Several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand in the sandy ground around its base, with a small group of onlookers visible at the lower edge. Sunlight filters through green leaves overhead. A red and yellow cloth hangs at the right edge near the tree, possibly a ritual decoration. The scene appears to be an outdoor sacred grove setting.2004-07-02April 12 20132013-04-12April 26 20132013-04-26A large, sprawling banyan tree dominates the frame, its wide canopy of green leaves spreading across the image and its many aerial roots hanging down and merging into thick trunks around a central trunk. Many thin aerial roots hang and descend from the upper limbs toward the ground, and a few are tied with colourful cloth strips. Low white stone platforms and a metal railing surround the trunk base on reddish-brown earth. A small blue sign is visible near the base of the trunk, and a green pole with a light fixture stands at the left. No people are visible in the scene.2010-07-15October 12 20132013-10-12
