A large, sprawling banyan tree dominates the frame, its wide canopy of green leaves spreading across the image and its many aerial roots hanging down and merging into thick trunks around a central trunk. Beneath the tree, a few small figures in light clothing stand and walk on bare earth near the base, with a green cloth draped over a structure at the left edge. The setting appears to be an open outdoor grounds.
