October 19 20062006-10-19Outdoors on a tree-lined roadside, a procession moves past with a decorated vehicle at the rear. Several men in matching saffron-orange dhotis and red-bordered cloths play drums, including a large barrel drum and smaller hand drums, and some are barefoot. The ornate, gold-framed vehicle carries a large framed portrait of a man with a white turban and white beard, and the frame is decorated with carved golden scrollwork. Lush green trees and a paved road with white edge lines frame the scene, with a few parked cars in the distance.2006-10-19September 17 20072007-09-17February 12 20102010-02-12 +1 copiesJuly 14 20112011-07-14Outdoor roadside scene beside a road under leafy trees. On the left, the ornately carved, gold-patterned side of a decorated vehicle with an orange flag pole and a framed portrait panel on its side. Around seven men in matching saffron-yellow dhotis and yellow shirts with red trim stand barefoot near the vehicle, several playing hand percussion such as cymbals and drums, one holding a small bell. Behind them, a few onlookers sit or stand by the roadside, one in white. The setting suggests a procession or street drumming accompanying a ratha.2006-10-19A photograph of a procession on a dirt ground outdoors. Four musicians walk forward together: a man in a white shirt and white dhoti beats a red-and-gold drum slung at his side, a woman in a yellow-and-purple sari plays a long brass horn, another man in white dhoti and shirt plays a brass horn, and a fourth man in white dhoti beats a large drum. Behind them, several people in white dhotis and white shirts walk along, and a red-roofed building and metal frames stand at the right under bright daylight.2011-11-10A photograph of a decorated wooden ratha chariot procession moving along a paved road lined with dense green trees. The chariot has a thatched-looking roof with golden arches and carved panels, and it carries figures under a canopy. Men in white dhotis and shirts walk beside it on the roadside, while a group of drummers in saffron-orange robes plays a large drum near the trees. The scene is outdoors in daylight.2006-10-192010 - Photo Album +1 copiesSeptember 11 20102010-09-11November 21 20102010-11-21October 19 20062006-10-19
