Behind him, a shaved-headed man in an orange-red robe and a gold-bordered cloth stands with palms pressed together in prayer. Smoke rises from the flame in a dim hall with a few blurred figures in the background.2013-07-18July 18 20132013-07-18A man in a dark grey button-up shirt and dark trousers, wearing glasses and a thin bracelet, holds a burning coconut husk aloft in both hands, with a bright orange flame rising from it in a dim room. Behind him, a second man in a blue t-shirt with a white graphic and white stripes on the sleeves stands with hands clasped, slightly out of focus. The setting is dark with a plain wall. The flame ritual suggests a fire offering, though the setting is not clearly a homa.2013-07-18Close photo of a shaved-headed man in glasses and a red tilak on his forehead, wearing a rudraksha mala and an orange-and-yellow cloth draped over bare shoulders, holding a small brass oil lamp with a lit flame in his right hand. A gold bangle is on his wrist. A second person's partly visible head appears at the left edge, and a plain beige wall forms the background.2011-10-10Night photograph of two shaved-headed priests performing aarti outdoors beside a brick wall and foliage. The priest on the right, in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with white forehead markings and earrings, holds a large brass aarti lamp with a bright flame and smoke rising. The priest on the left, seen from behind in a brown-maroon robe with a gold-edged cloth and rudraksha beads, extends his hand toward the flame. A small brass bell rests near the lamp base. Warm firelight contrasts with the dark greenery.2015-11-24A photograph of a bald, bespectacled older man in a grey-and-brown striped collarless shirt holding a small gold oil lamp with a lit flame in both hands, his head bowed in concentration. A red-and-orange sacred thread is tied on his wrist and a small pendant hangs at his chest. Blurred figures in white stand behind him. Only one physical person is clearly visible, though others are partly in frame at the edges.2013-01-05January 15 20172017-01-15November 29 20112011-11-29November 24 20152015-11-24April 30 20152015-04-30
