A street procession in a town with power lines and shop signs. Several young men in saffron-orange robes walk barefoot over scattered petals, one with a rudraksha mala and another in the centre with long hair, a red tilak and a gold-beaded garland, hands pressed together in anjali. Behind them, a flower-decorated ratha or palanquin with yellow and pink garlands and a small saffron flag is carried along. In the foreground, several men in saffron and orange sannyasi-style cloth walk together, some bare-shouldered with orange wraps. The man at right-centre has long dark swept-back hair, a dark tilak mark, and a gold ornamental necklace with a pendant over an orange garment, which is a distinctive cue, but his face and identity are not established here, so the figure is described by role as a sannyasi in procession. Behind them, men in white shirts and white dhotis walk among devotees along a street lined with multi-storey shops and signboards. Garlands and flower petals are visible.2005-11-14November 14 20052005-11-14A procession on a dirt path with a crowd behind. In the centre a man in saffron-orange robes with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala walks barefoot-style in sandals, with a hand holding a cane, and a saffron turban. Beside him on the left a bearded man in orange and pink-bordered cloth holds a long pole of a decorated parasol, and a gold necklace is visible. Behind them a saffron-robed man with a sceptre-like staff walks with a shaved head and white forehead marks. Multicoloured fringed parasols with long poles are held overhead. Orange-robed figures and white-clad devotees follow. a person depicted as a probable in-person candidate: the centre figure wears long swept-back hair, a saffron turban, saffron robes and a rudraksha mala, cues associated with the page's reference to a procession.2007-12-30A group of saffron-robed sannyasis walks barefoot along a paved street in front of a temple gateway. The central man wears an orange dhoti and shawl with gold borders and a long ornate gold bead necklace, with a red bindi on his forehead. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold-bordered shawls and white-and-orange-clad monastics carry a small brass vessel and an orange cloth bag. Sandalwood tilaka marks cover several foreheads, and rudraksha malas hang on many chests. Behind them, a metal gate and shopfronts line the street. Appearance cues alone are not sufficient to identify the central figure, so his role is described as a saffron-clad sannyasi leading the procession.2011-09-26December 25 20082008-12-25 +1 copiesNovember 14 20052005-11-14September 26 20112011-09-26November 25 20092009-11-25Outdoor procession on sandy ground with palm trees behind.
