July 16 20062006-07-16An outdoor exhibition stall at a spiritual conference, under a thatched canopy. A man in a white collared shirt and a man in a pink checked shirt stand at a blue-draped table reading printed leaflets. A young man in white kurta and a man in a white shirt with an ID badge hand out literature beside a chakra chart showing a blue human figure with coloured energy centres. On the right, a woman in a cream sari with a gold border and blue blouse, hair in a braid with a flower, receives a pamphlet, and an elderly man in a lavender shirt with a lanyard stands nearby. Banners above show photographs of saffron-robed figures, temples and mountains, and a hanging blue-and-white poster reads Purana. Several other visitors are visible in the background.2005-12-09August 08 20092009-08-08Outdoor fair with several open-front stalls under corrugated tin roofs on grass. Large banners show a man with a white turban and dark hair in portrait photos, labelled as Nithyananda Acupuncture Healing Science Foundation, a SARGURU BOOK STALL, and Nithyananda Lawyers Association. Pennants and flags fly from poles. Vendors sit behind tables with bottles and books, and about five people in white and pastel clothes stand or browse at the stalls.2006-07-17A dense crowd fills a festival lane beside a bamboo-and-banana-leaf pavilion during an outdoor event. A tall umbrella-like canopy in orange, green and multicolour with white dove motifs and gold fringe is carried above a procession, and a second decorated parasol with a gold rim stands beside it. Many people in white shirts, saffron and orange saris, and light clothing press forward, some with folded hands. Large printed banners in Tamil line the lane, one showing a framed portrait of a bearded man in orange and a woman with a draped head. A shaved-headed man in white is near the left edge, but no one can be confidently identified from appearance.2008-04-19January 04 20122012-01-04A photograph of an outdoor exhibition stall under a corrugated tin roof with bamboo poles and strings of marigold garlands. Four men stand on red ground in front of colourful draped panels: three in white shirts and light trousers, one in a white shirt with dark trousers facing away and holding a paper. A large vertical banner shows a smiling figure with long hair, a white turban, a rudraksha mala and white robes, labelled with Tamil text reading Dhyanapeetam. Below it, a white banner with a numbered blue sign reads ATTUR 17. Other banners show grids of small photographs, a second turbaned portrait, and a long Tamil text panel listing meditation benefits beside a timing schedule. A signboard at the right reads VILLUPURAM 18.2005-12-09January 21 20092009-01-21A crowded outdoor event in front of a thatched-roof structure with a banana-leaf and coloured-cloth decorated entrance arch. Many people, mostly women in saris and salwar kameez, press together, some with flowers in their hair and garlands. A large printed banner above the arch shows a portrait and Tamil text announcing an event, with phone numbers. Decorative umbrellas and a stack of colourful umbrella-like shapes sit beside the crowd. Dusk light, dirt ground, and a few people walking in the background.2008-04-19July 07 20092009-07-07A photograph of a long open-air stall under a striped tent with draped red, gold and pink fabric. Many men in white shirts and white dhotis queue along a sandy ground beside a row of sandals left at the curtain. One man in a checked shirt and dark trousers stands at the left edge, and a man in a lilac dhoti holds a shawl. A large framed portrait on the stall shows a smiling man in a white turban, but the figure is printed, not physical. A blue a person-branded sign appears at the right. Several dozen men and women are visible in the queue.2007-07-29July 28 20082008-07-28
