August 31 20172017-08-31A photograph of a Siddha purification process: a flat-bottomed metal vessel on a stone block holds glowing red embers beneath stacked dark cowdung cakes, with smoke rising. Behind it a wooden platform is dotted with red flower petals and a silver tray sits at the right edge. Blurred figures in rust-orange clothing are at the top left and top right, with hands visible at the top right; no faces are clearly shown. The scene depicts a homa-style fire with cowdung smoke used for purifying preparations.2017-08-31A homa fire ritual with flames and rising smoke over a brick-built fire pit decorated with yellow and red flowers and coloured powder markings. Brass bowls sit near the fire, and a long metal ladle or tool reaches toward the blaze. Partially visible hands and forearms of ritual participants wearing gold necklaces and dark-red clothing frame the edges. No clearly identifiable face is visible, so no a person candidate is shown.2015-07-17January 05 20182018-01-05July 03 20172017-07-03January 05 20182018-01-05March 17 20192019-03-17Close-up photograph of a brick fire pit with a bright orange flame and rising smoke over a pile of charred wood and ash.
