Outdoor temple-style scene under a thatched wooden pavilion with red-and-white striped cloth wrapped around posts. In the foreground an ornately carved golden-and-dark-wood palanquin or throne stands. Behind it, a man in a white dhoti and white shirt holds a mala of beads and stands near a figure in saffron-orange robes with a gold necklace, holding a trident-like staff. Several devotees in white and saffron, including a man in a white head covering in the lower right, gather around. A photographer in white clothing points a camera. Umbrellas and palm fronds appear in the background. Whether any figure is a person cannot be established from appearance alone.2013-12-02January 01 20122012-01-01A procession of devotees walks outdoors past a thatched hut and palm trees. In the centre a man in a saffron-red robe with a long orange-gold shawl and a heavy beaded mala stands behind a tall silver trident. Beside him a bald man in red holds a silver trident aloft. On the left a woman in orange-red sari and beaded necklace walks under a red and yellow canopy, and a young man in orange holds a long pole. Several women in white and grey clothes hold silver staffs or stand nearby, and a woman in a white dress holds another silver staff at right. Ornate golden objects blur in the foreground.2013-12-02A procession on a stone-paved path under a sunlit sky. On the right, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears a rust-red saffron-toned cloth, a gold necklace and a dark rudraksha mala, holding a silver trident and smiling while extending his hand. Beside him stands a man in a white shirt and white dhoti holding a silver ritual staff. At left, a man in a white shirt and white head cloth holds a golden bowl of offerings on a white plate toward the group. Behind them, white-clad and red-clad devotees carry silver staffs, and a red and gold ceremonial umbrella with tasselled fringe shades the procession. Several people wear rudraksha malas.2013-12-02December 07 20132013-12-07December 17 20132013-12-17Outdoor ritual photo under trees beside a yellow-walled shrine with a decorated deity murti garlanded with flower strands. A tall, multicoloured canopy with orange and green fringes is held over a stone-edged pit area where brass lamps, a small brass vessel and flower offerings sit on a white-draped table. A bearded man in a white robe with a white turban and a yellow-orange sash stands with his hands raised in a blessing gesture, facing devotees. Surrounding people in white clothes and white garments wear rudraksha-style beaded necklaces, some with orange cloth. A man in a white shirt holds the canopy pole while a woman in white with a flower in her hair stands at the lower left. Devotees sit and stand in the background, many with their hands folded. This appears to be a puja or abhishekam with devotees gathered for darshan.2005-01-01December 02 20132013-12-02December 02 20132013-12-02December 27 20082008-12-27A photo of a procession under a covered pavilion with colourful hanging decorations. In the centre, a bearded man in a rust-red turban with a crescent ornament wears a rust-red shawl, a gold necklace and a large floral garland; his appearance matches a person by cues of ornate gold jewellery and a garland of flowers, and he walks in procession. Around him, men in saffron and orange robes carry a long-handled ceremonial parasol, while others in white dhotis with gold borders and rudraksha malas walk alongside. Devotees in white, pink and light blue stand along the sides with palms pressed together in namaskar. A child in pink is held by an adult at the lower right.2016-12-03August 15 20172017-08-15 +1 copies
