A photograph of a floral-decorated float or raft on dark water in front of a red stepped ghat with string lights above. The float is draped with green foliage, garlands in orange, purple and white, and orange fabric. A person in an orange robe stands at the top of the float, and another figure in orange sits or kneels at its base near the water. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand waist-deep in the water, one holding a pole or rope, and one wearing a large orange-and-white decorated headpiece. The scene appears to be a water procession or ritual on a river steps area.

A decorated floating platform on a river at dusk, draped with orange cloth and garlands of marigolds, white flowers and green leaves in purple, yellow and white strands. A figure with long dark hair in orange robes sits on the platform, and several men in white dhotis and orange cloth stand waist-deep in the water around it, hands raised toward the platform. A man in white clothes with a yellow shawl stands on the red stone steps at right, holding a camera. Strings of small lights run along the red stepped ghat wall behind. The scene suggests a river ritual with a procession vessel, though the specific rite is not legible.2010-02-12A photograph of a floral-decorated ceremonial platform on red-stepped ghat steps at dusk, with devotees standing waist-deep in water. Standing on the float at right is a person in an orange robe with a gold necklace, holding a silver tray or plate, appearing to be a person by appearance cues including long dark hair and orange clothing. A seated woman in an orange top sits at left on the float. A figure in orange robes sits cross-armed on an ornate gold-and-red throne on a raised, garlanded platform draped in orange cloth. The throne is framed by a multicolour garland arch, and a small coloured fringed canopy hangs above. Strings of white, yellow and magenta flower garlands decorate the platform edges, with lit lamps and a silver vessel with flowers at the front. Below, several people stand waist-deep in the water: one in orange garments with his back to the camera at the platform's base, and others in white clothes. The seated figure's identity cannot be confirmed from appearance, so he is described by role and clothing only; the orange robes and throne suggest a presiding teacher. Lamps and garlands indicate an aarti or abhishekam-style water ritual.2011-03-03Night photo of a floral-decorated throne platform carried by men wading in a lit river or tank, with brick ghats and rows of lamps behind. A seated figure in orange robes and a garland sits centrally on a gold-framed throne draped with purple and yellow marigold garlands. Two standing attendants in orange robes flank the throne; one holds a fan-like object. Carriers wear white dhotis and yellow sashes. Spectators line the steps above, and lit lamps trace the stairs and an arch at upper right. The scene reads as a river procession. The seated figure's appearance is consistent with a person, seated in orange robes and garland atop a decorated throne, while the attendants are priests or sannyasis.2010-02-12July 26 20102010-07-26Night photo of a ceremony on water at a stone ghat.
