Evening photo of a flower-decorated raised platform floating on water in a temple tank, with a yellow fringed canopy overhead. A man in an orange robe and a white flower garland sits centrally on the platform with a saffron shawl, while a person beside him holds a brass vessel. Around the platform, roughly a dozen devotees in wet white clothes, some wearing yellow scarves, wade in the water and push or hold the float. Red stone steps and illuminated shivalinga and lamp outlines glow behind, under a dusk sky with a tree. Garlands of white jasmine, marigolds, purple and pink flowers and green fern leaves decorate the float.

July 26 20102010-07-26Night photo of a floral-decorated throne platform carried by men wading in a lit river or tank, with brick ghats and rows of lamps behind. A seated figure in orange robes and a garland sits centrally on a gold-framed throne draped with purple and yellow marigold garlands. Two standing attendants in orange robes flank the throne; one holds a fan-like object. Carriers wear white dhotis and yellow sashes. Spectators line the steps above, and lit lamps trace the stairs and an arch at upper right. The scene reads as a river procession. The seated figure's appearance is consistent with a person, seated in orange robes and garland atop a decorated throne, while the attendants are priests or sannyasis.2010-02-12Night photograph of a sarvadarshan paadapooja at a temple tank. A seated figure in orange robes and a white garland sits on a red throne decorated with marigolds, orange and pink flowers, and white floral arches. The figure appears to be the honoured guest, but appearance cues are insufficient for identification. Around the throne, devotees wearing white clothes stand waist-deep in dark water, some with yellow sashes and folded hands. A white-clad priest stands on the left bank, and black linga-shaped shrines line the red stone wall behind. Lamps illuminate the scene.2010-01-03Evening photo of a flower-decorated raft or float carrying a seated figure in orange robes beneath a yellow canopy, floating in a water tank surrounded by stone steps. The raft is heaped with garlands and flowers in pink, orange, purple and white. Around it, many people in white clothes and yellow shawls stand waist-deep in the water, some with hands raised. Illuminated lamps glow along the steps and on pillars at the back, and a man in a striped shirt stands at the right edge on the steps. A bald man in white stands on the raft's right side. The scene is a water procession in the evening.2010-07-26July 26 20102010-07-26Night photo of a floating platform on water in front of a large black linga with silver-banded top and flower garlands. A seated figure in orange robes with long hair and a red-and-white garland sits on a gold and red throne decorated with marigold and multicoloured flower garlands. Attendants in orange clothing stand beside the throne, one holding a tray. Around the platform, about a dozen people in white clothes stand chest-deep in the water, some with hands raised in prayer, one in orange and white. A man in white stands on the stone steps at right, and rows of oil lamps line the tiered steps.2010-02-12A decorated floating platform on a river at dusk, draped with orange cloth and garlands of marigolds, white flowers and green leaves in purple, yellow and white strands. A figure with long dark hair in orange robes sits on the platform, and several men in white dhotis and orange cloth stand waist-deep in the water around it, hands raised toward the platform. A man in white clothes with a yellow shawl stands on the red stone steps at right, holding a camera. Strings of small lights run along the red stepped ghat wall behind. The scene suggests a river ritual with a procession vessel, though the specific rite is not legible.2010-02-12January 03 20102010-01-03Night photograph of a decorated floating platform on dark water, illuminated by white lights and draped with yellow, white and multicoloured garland swags. A figure in orange robes sits on a red-cushioned throne at the centre of the raft, with a tall silver-toned kalasha or column and a fountain spray behind. Several people stand waist-deep in the water around the raft: one in orange robes on the left, and others in white clothing on the right, some with shaved heads. Stone steps and a metal staircase frame the scene. Offerings and ritual items sit on an orange-draped table at the front of the raft.2011-03-03A night ceremony on water at a stone ghat. A figure in orange robes sits cross-armed on an ornate gold-and-red throne on a raised, garlanded platform draped in orange cloth. The throne is framed by a multicolour garland arch, and a small coloured fringed canopy hangs above. Strings of white, yellow and magenta flower garlands decorate the platform edges, with lit lamps and a silver vessel with flowers at the front. Below, several people stand waist-deep in the water: one in orange garments with his back to the camera at the platform's base, and others in white clothes. The seated figure's identity cannot be confirmed from appearance, so he is described by role and clothing only; the orange robes and throne suggest a presiding teacher. Lamps and garlands indicate an aarti or abhishekam-style water ritual.2011-03-03January 03 20102010-01-03Night procession on water at a temple tank. A figure seated on an ornate gold throne (peetha) atop a raft-like platform draped in orange cloth is garlanded with bands of marigold and white flowers.
