Several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand around, most in plain white or grey shirts. A man in the foreground right wears a white shirt, a rust-brown shawl over one shoulder, and white vibhuti lines on his forehead, holding a large frame drum with yellow rim. A man next to him holds a second drum with dark patterned body and yellow lacing. Behind them, people in white stand near green banana plants and a line of tall decorated poles with yellow and green streamers.2012-07-03A village road procession with musicians in white dhotis and shirts playing drums and a long wind instrument, plus a conch-like horn. The lead drummer in the centre wears a pale green shirt and white dhoti, striking a large drum with a stick. Other drummers on either side play smaller drums with red and orange cloth straps. Palm trees, thatched huts, and orange saffron flags line the road in the background, with more people walking behind the musicians.2006-11-13December 30 20072007-12-30A photograph of a procession on a dirt road lined with coconut palms. Several men and boys in white dhotis and white shirts walk in a group, many playing cylindrical drums, some with hand-held drumsticks. Two ornate umbrellas with red, orange and gold fringes are carried above the group. Low thatched structures and a white wall sit at the sides of the road under a clear pale sky.2006-12-29December 31 20092009-12-31December 31 20092009-12-31A photograph of a procession on a dirt road lined with palm trees, with a thatched hut and low buildings in the background. Several men lead the group playing drums: on the left a man in a blue checked shirt and white dhoti carries a drum with a red strap, another in white plays a drum, a man in a white shirt with a black strap plays a large brass-rimmed drum, and a man at right in a white shirt and beaded mala necklace stands near it. Behind them, people in white clothes follow, and several colourful umbrella-style canopies or ornamental poles with orange, red and green tops rise above the crowd. The sunlight is bright and the scene is outdoors in daylight.2006-12-29A rural road procession in daylight, with palm trees and a thatched hut at left. In the foreground, several drummers in white dhotis and white shawls play double-headed drums: a man in a pale yellow shirt beats a red-and-black drum, while others carry drums with striped and pink covers. Behind them, men in white and lavender garments and an orange-clad figure walk along the road, and orange flags flutter from a pole near a small shrine structure.2006-11-13
