The figure wears a pink and gold headdress, white dhoti with orange border, blue upper garment, gold necklaces and a sacred thread, holding a staff and standing on a grey rock beside a green and purple parrot. Blurred figurines and red and gold cloth fill the background, and a partial doll in a blue headdress appears at the right edge.2016-10-08A photograph of a display of painted clay figurines, the kind used in a Navaratri golu arrangement. In the centre a small seated figure in orange robes sits on a dark rock base, with a red tilak on the forehead, a dark bead necklace, and hands held in a gesture of blessing, with a turtle at its base. Nearby stand a green-robed figure with a purple sash and blurred orange-robed figures in the foreground, set against a dark tree, colourful painted dolls and a striped tiered structure. The figures are miniature statuettes, not people, and the appearance of the central figure is not a sufficient basis for identifying anyone.2016-10-08A display of painted clay figurines arranged on a bed of soil among green foliage, depicting a scene of devotees and deities. Two horse-mounted figures in the foreground, one in blue with a red crown and one in pink, sit on white horses with coloured bases. Behind them, many small figures in saffron, red, green, yellow and purple dhotis and saris stand in groups, some holding flutes, some with tilak marks, some wearing garlands. A golden figure stands at the upper right and a painted elephant appears beside it. The figurines are clearly statues, not living people.2009-09-22 +1 copiesA photograph of a screen showing a man standing at left, bare-chested in a white dhoti with a beaded mala around his neck, holding a brass cup or vessel near his face and a small object in his hand. Beside him, a seated figure in orange and red robes with a turban-style head covering sits on a blue draped platform. At right stand two large painted statues: a deity figure in red, orange and yellow garments with a crown and raised hand, and a second figure in blue and maroon clothing with a golden crown. A small child figure sits on the dark pedestal in front. The man is a live participant on a screen, not a statue or print, and the seated figure is a statue or depiction whose identity cannot be confirmed.2011-09-10A close-up photograph of a golu display of painted clay dolls set on a red cloth. In the foreground, three standing figures with gold halos and crowns are prominent: a central blue-skinned deity in a crown with a garland and bow, flanked by a red-saree woman figure on the left and a white-and-orange saree figure on the right, each holding a bow or object. Behind them are green-skinned figures, a seated gold-crowned figure, and a bowl on a pedestal, all blurred in a colourful background of more dolls. These are figurines, not living people. Deity murti forms are shown in a navaratri golu arrangement.2016-10-08A photograph of a Navaratri golu display of painted clay dolls arranged on a white cloth and a gold-and-maroon brocade runner. In the centre, a bright-orange-and-gold deity figure with a tall crown and a garland of pink flowers holds a conch and a mace-like staff, flanked by a green-faced figure in a red garment with a crown and a pink garland. Other dolls include a seated musician playing a veena at left, a seated figure in blue playing a stringed instrument at right, a standing male figure in a white dhoti, and small children figures. Ornate painted figures and a peacock appear in the background. Printed text is visible in the lower right corner.2016-10-08Close-up photo of a Navaratri golu display of painted clay figurines on a golden cloth. In the foreground a standing female figure in a green sari with gold jewellery and a crown holds a blue lotus bud. Beside her a blue-skinned four-armed deity sits on a pink and yellow pedestal, and at right a figure in yellow holds a veena. Blurred figurines and colourful dolls fill the background. The figures are statues, not living people.2016-10-08September 09 20112011-09-09
