June 04 20062006-06-04A photograph of a man in an orange sleeveless garment with his hands pressed together in anjali mudra, standing before an orange-painted grilled gate in a small shrine room with lilac walls. Inside the shrine, framed pictures and a folded golden cloth hang on the walls, and a small shelf holds a framed image. A devotee in white stands partly visible behind him. The man has long dark hair tied back, and the orange-clad figure appears to be a sannyasi in devotion at the shrine; identity uncertain from appearance alone.A photograph of a man with long dark hair tied back, wearing a sleeveless saffron-orange garment, standing with palms pressed together in namaskar before a shrine doorway. The doorway is painted bright orange with a metal grille. Inside the small pink-walled shrine are framed pictures of deities, a golden cloth draped over a window ledge, and a small framed image of a temple on the floor. Another saffron-clad person is partly visible at left.A photograph in a red-arched temple doorway with hanging brass bells and a garland-draped interior. A long-haired man with a red bindi, rudraksha mala and saffron shawl smiles and holds his hand to his chest, with appearance cues consistent with a probable Swamiji. Beside him, a man in an orange shawl and orange t-shirt stands close, and behind them other saffron-clad men carry a trident-topped staff. An older man in white and an orange-clad figure stand at the left edge.2006-05-25Photograph inside a dim, low-ceilinged cave shrine with whitewashed walls and a rough rock ceiling. In the foreground a long-haired man in a sleeveless orange robe stands facing left toward a small shrine niche holding a seated painted deity murti in orange and yellow. A red metal donate box stands at the front of the niche, with a copper vessel and a brass tray of flowers, kumkum and offerings on a ledge. Behind him a bearded man in an orange kurta with a tilak stands beside a cameraman filming with a video camera, and a person in white garments stands at right. A garland of pink and green flowers hangs above the niche. Probable Swamiji in the foreground, with long swept-back hair, orange clothing and a sleeveless saffron robe.2008-07-07A photograph taken at a doorway of a temple-like building with yellow walls, a red-framed picture above, and a hanging brass bell. A man with long dark hair swept back, wearing a red-and-gold cloth with gold necklaces, stands in profile with palms pressed together in greeting. Beside him, a shaved-headed man in orange robes with a shawl stands near a wooden lattice door, his head slightly bowed. A partially visible person in white stands at the left edge and another blurred head appears in the foreground. a person cues: long swept-back hair, gold necklaces and red-gold clothing, with a role as the figure greeting with folded hands. Inside, a dim room with red and framed images is visible.2014-03-14December 25 20082008-12-25Photograph taken inside a small shrine room with a red and gold fringed canopy hanging above. A person in the foreground, partly cut off at the left edge, has long dark wavy hair and wears an orange garment with a rudraksha mala of brown beads around the neck. Beyond them, a framed deity image with a dark background and red accents sits in a shrine niche, with a red-draped stool and a small framed picture on the wall to the right. The person is seen from the side and back, looking toward the shrine.2006-06-04Indoor photo in a tiled temple-style hall with a metal railing and chain. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand at the railing with hands pressed in anjali; the man on the right has long, swept-back dark hair and a sleeveless saffron garment, and the man beside him wears an orange shawl with a red border. Behind them, a man in a striped shirt and a few men in white dhotis and shawls stand and watch. A small metal cup sits on the railing and a window with decorative grillwork is behind. Appearance-based cues on the man on the right (long hair, saffron clothing) are suggestive but not distinctive enough to confirm identity, so the figure is described by role only.2010-02-17A photograph of devotees at a temple shrine at night. A long-haired man in an orange sleeveless top stands in profile with palms pressed together in namaskar, facing a pale blue wall. Beside him, another person with long dark curly hair in orange clothing is partly visible at left, and a balding man with grey hair in the right foreground is seen from behind.
