Original Verse

अथ वक्ष्ये काकरूपस्कन्धासनमुत्तमम्॥२३.११२॥ कलिपापात् प्रमुच्येत वायवीं वशमानयेत्। निजपादद्वयं बद्धवा स्कन्धदेशे च साधकः॥२३.११३॥ नित्यमेतत् पदद्वन्द्वं भूमौ पुष्टिकरद्वयम्॥२३.११४॥

Transliteration

atha vakṣye kākarūpaskandhāsanamuttamam॥23.112॥ kalipāpāt pramucyeta vāyavīṃ vaśamānayet। nijapādadvayaṃ baddhavā skandhadeśe ca sādhakaḥ॥23.113॥ nityametat padadvandvaṃ bhūmau puṣṭikaradvayam॥23.114॥


Translation

Now I shall talk about the supreme kākarūpaskandhāsana; Practising which the sādhaka becomes free of the sins of kaliyuga and masters the vital breath. The sādhaka should tie both his feet and place them on the shoulders (or) place both feet on the ground daily. (23.112, 113, 114)

Steps/Technique

1. Sit and bring one leg behing the head. 2. Bring the other leg behind the head and cross them. 3. Tie the legs together with a cloth. 4. Use the hands on the ground for support.
