Guru Purnima 2024
Guru Purnima is one of the most significant days in the Hindu calendar, dedicated to honoring the Living Guru who acts as the bridge between the individual and Universal Consciousness. As taught by THE SPH, this day provides a unique opportunity for devotees to receive the direct blessings of the Master and offer their gratitude, an act of giving that is said to instantly burn away many lives of accumulated karma through the Guru’s presence. The KAILASA Singapore center, operating as a vibrant energy field dedicated to the revival of Hindu traditions, hosted an elaborate series of rituals to mark this powerful occasion.
The day began with the traditional temple services, known as sevas, commencing with Suprabatham—the ritual of waking up the deities—offered by Sri Jnanapradata. This was immediately followed by the sacred Pratyaksha Pada Puja and the powerful Nithyananda Arati, conducted by Shiva Karthikeyan, in honor of THE SPH BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM. For the first time, this year's Guru Purnima celebration in Singapore featured the sacred Nithyananda Arati, during which devotees reported experiencing the landing of tremendous spiritual energy through the Guru's grace, enabling them to connect directly with THE SPH and manifest the state, space, powers, being and superconsciousness of Paramashiva. The daily ritual cycle concluded with Palliyarai—the process of putting the deities to rest—offered by Sri Krishna Raut.
The collective devotion of the community manifested through immense volunteer service and offerings. Eight tireless volunteers contributed their efforts to flawlessly execute the day's events. The center was exquisitely decorated in traditional Hindu style, with dedicated teams (including Ma Roopa, Sri Paramaganaphati, and Ma Carol Leong) managing the aesthetic preparation. A new Alankaram (decoration) was painstakingly prepared for the 20 deities, led by Ma Pragnyana Yogini and her team. A total of 108 varieties of Naivedyams (food offerings) were offered to THE SPH, symbolizing the community's profound love and dedication. The spiritual power generated was further amplified by the offering of 182 sacred Guru Mudis by the devotees, demonstrating their deepest commitment to their Guru.
In alignment with THE SPH’s global humanitarian mission of ensuring food security and nourishment for all beings, Annadhaan (sacred food service) was conducted, feeding approximately 50 people. The KAILASA Singapore center, dedicated to upholding the wisdom of the Hindu Agamas and Vedic scriptures, continues to be a crucial hub for spiritual seekers, inspiring the revival of authentic Sanatana Hindu Dharma and facilitating the highest spiritual growth under the direct guidance of THE SPH.
