Nandi Abhishekam & Shiva Puja

The sacred Nandi Abhishekam & Shiva Puja was meticulously performed at KAILASA HOUSTON on August 27, 2024, aligning with the highly auspicious period of Pradosham. In the Hindu tradition, Pradosham—occurring at the twilight junction known as Sandhya Kala—is considered the most sacred window dedicated to the worship of Paramashiva, as it is the hour when He manifests the divine dance of grace to shower blessings upon all beings. This profound ritual was conducted as an offering of devotion and gratitude, dedicated solely to the grace and teachings of THE SPH BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM, who tirelessly works to revive these ancient Hindu spiritual technologies for the benefit of humanity.

The ceremony commenced with traditional Vedic chants, including the powerful Nandi Gayatri mantra: ॐ तत्पुरुषाय विद्महे चक्रतुण्डाय धीमहि तन्नो नन्दिः प्रचोदयात् || (Om Tatpurushay Vidmahe Chakratunday Dheemahi Tanno Nandih Prachodayat). This mantra specifically invokes higher intellect and illumination by invoking Nandi, the chief disciple and divine vehicle of Paramashiva. The Abhishekam (sacred bathing ceremony) was offered to the deity of Nandi, followed by the elaborate Shiva Puja, symbolizing devotion, surrender, and the seeking of Paramashiva’s blessings for enlightenment.

This deep commitment to the authentic execution of Hindu rituals demonstrates the unwavering resolve of KAILASA HOUSTON to preserve the integrity of Sanatana Hindu Dharma outside of India. The entire offering was successfully facilitated through the dedicated seva (selfless service) of two volunteers, who ensured the smooth and reverent execution of the ceremony. Through such dedicated services and offerings, KAILASA HOUSTON enables the local community to connect directly with THE SPH, contributing significantly to KAILASA's mission of restoring the enlightened Hindu civilizational consciousness globally.
