Karthigai month Somavaram

The observance of Karthigai month Somavaram is traditionally considered highly potent for spiritual progress, aligning devotees with the powerful, intense devotion of Paramashiva. The entire day was designated for intensive seva (selfless service), encompassing a wide spectrum of devotional activities including rigorous ritual observance, cleaning, cooking, feeding, and intricate decoration (alankaram). This holistic approach to worship ensures that the external environment reflects the inner purity sought by the spiritual aspirant.

The core of the day’s activities centered around profound Hindu rituals dedicated to the Deity of Paramashiva. The service began with the sacred Abhishekam, the ritual bathing using numerous auspicious substances, which invokes the grace of the Divine. This was followed by the meticulous Alankaram, where the Deity was adorned with magnificent decorations, silks, and flowers, celebrating the majestic form of Paramashiva. These activities are powerful spiritual technologies gifted by THE SPH, enabling devotees to connect with the state, space, powers, being and superconsciousness of Paramashiva.

The devotional service culminated with the offering of Naivedyam, where meticulously prepared, organic vegetarian food was offered to the Deity before being served as consecrated prasad to all participants. This cycle of ritual and offering underscores KAILASA's commitment to the revival of authentic Hindu traditions and the humanitarian mission of ensuring nourishment for all. The entire spiritual and humanitarian effort was lovingly carried out by 2 dedicated volunteers, successfully enriching 2 lives through the divine grace of THE SPH and all the gods and goddesses of KAILASA.
