Initiation with physical touch is only one of the many dimensions of the science of diksha. Have you ever wondered how The SPH is able to transmit powerful initiations to millions simply through a video stream ?
Diiksha - the science of initiation is a profound science , a deep bond , the manifestation of ultimate compassion through which the guru transforms His disciples into an unimaginable plateau.
The initiations given by The SPH confers a billion-fold benefit of sadhana and tapas.
The Shaiva-agamas classify various types of diksha-s.
Cākṣuṣī dīkṣā: The process by which the guru invokes Śiva in his eyes and destroys the bonds of the śiṣya by looking at him with the energized eyes.
Sparṣa dīkṣā: The process by which the guru invokes Śiva in his right hand and destroys the bonds of the śiṣya by touching him on the head with the energized hand.
Vācikī dīkṣā: The process by which the guru withdraws his senses, meditates deeply and with the resulting powerful energy, utters the saṁhitāmantra in front of the initiate.
Mānasī dīkṣā: Dīkṣā where the above process is done mentally and not verbally.
Śāstrī dīkṣā: Dīkṣā done along with the teaching of the śāstra-s.
Yogadīkṣā: Dīkṣā where the śiṣya achieves or realizes śivatattva through yoga.
Hautrī dīkṣā: Dīkṣā where the process involves agnikārya performed according to the rules.

As per scriptures, Paramashiva governs the cosmos through His Avaranas .. The entire maya matrix is governed by these avaranas. Each of the avaranas are empowered with state, space, powers and superconciousness of Paramashiva. Each avarana is established at specific tattvas. Based on their spirirual strength, they evolved through goverance structure and assumed more responsibilities
Paramashiva performs the five cosmic actions- creation, maintenance, dissolution, concealment and bestowal of grace, through His cosmic government using Five categories of evolved souls (beings), namely - Mantreshwaras, Vidyeshwaras, Lokeshwara, Ganeshwara and Astreshwaras.
According to the gradation of the maturation of these souls they are installed in a graded state to their responsibilities.
रुद्रमन्त्र पतीशान पदभाजो भवन्ति ते।
स्थितौ याननुगृह्णाति गुरुमास्थाय चिद्वतः॥3
rudramantra patīśāna padabhājo bhavanti te।
sthitau yānanugṛhṇāti gurumāsthāya cidvataḥ॥3
Translation :
Those perfect souls upon whom the Lord bestows grace presenting Himself in the body of the Guru reach the worlds of Rudra ( who control the five groups, each group consisting of eight worlds), Mantras, Mantresvaras, isvara tattva, sadasiva tattva and so forth according to their state and nature of ‘shaktipata’ (descent of the grace-bestowing Shakti).
