Bagala Baath

Ingredients

1. Basmati Rice - 1 cup 2. Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp 3. Asafetida - a pinch 4. Dry Red Chilly - 2 5. Ginger - 1 inch 6. Mango - a small piece 7. Curd - 1-1/2 cups 8. Salt - 1 tsp 9. Carrot - 1 (optional) 10. Cucumber - 1 small 11. Ghee for frying

Preparation

1. Cook the rice in 2-1/2 cups water and set aside.

2. Fry the mustard seeds and asafoetida in some ghee and add to the curd.

3. Cut the ginger and green chilly into small pieces and mix with the curd.

4. Clean the remaining fruits and vegetables and cut them into very small pieces or shred them evenly.

5. Add them to the curd along with the salt.

6. Pour the curd mixture over the rice and mix evenly to make the rice smooth and slightly mashed.
