I welcome you all with My love and respects. As you all must be aware that this whole year, we are dedicating to Living Enlightenment, Jeevan mukthi. This whole trip, we are dedicating to this great book ‘Patanjali yoga sutras’. Today we will be entering into the fourteenth sutras, fourteenth sutra, fourteenth aphorism. I will read the sutra, give you the translation, then add what needs to be added. Let’s enter into the fourteenth sutra. स तु दीर्घकाल नैरन्तर्य सत्कारा असेवितो दृढभूमिः sa tu dīrghakāla nairantarya satkāra-ādara-āsevito dr̥ḍhabhūmiḥ Translation: Committed and intense practice of unclutching makes one firmly established in higher state of awareness. This book, each aphorism, each sutra can create a religion. Each sutra is independently intelligent to lead a person to enlightenment.

Please understand the word yoga means uniting, uniting with the ultimate. In Bhagavad Gita each chapter is called as yogam, means each chapter can independently lead you to enlightenment. So, He talks about eighteen different paths. When Krishna delivered the Bhagavad Gita, whatever major paths were available for enlightenment he has compiled everything and presented it in one book. Eighteen major paths for enlightenment he describes and leads people to enlightenment through various ways. That is why each chapter is called one Yoga. Here Patanjali, the amazing intellect happened in the inner science, each sutra is independently intelligent to lead you to enlightenment. Each sutra is independently intelligent to lead you to enlightenment. I can say each sutra is a yoga in this Patanjali’s work.

Let Me repeat the sutra. sa tu dīrghakāla nairantarya satkāra-ādara-āsevito dr̥ḍhabhūmiḥ sa tu dīrghakāla nairantarya satkāra-ādara-āsevito dr̥ḍhabhūmiḥ Committed and intense practice of unclutching makes one firmly established in a higher state of awareness. There are so many different kinds of religions, spiritual philosophies, spiritual groups happened in the planet Earth, different kinds of teachings have been shared in the planet Earth, different kinds of spiritual literatures have been created. Millions and millions of books… sometime when I go and see the Barnes and Noble or Landmark book shop, I feel Oh God, why should I add little more confusion; why should I add little more to the existing confusion? So much, so much of spiritual literature. Because of website, internet you can see how much is available in one place. So much is available. And from the time immemorial, all the Masters they go on and on and on and on and on talking, talking, talking, talking, talking and talking and producing spiritual literatures. Not only the Masters of the past, even the present Masters, even all of us, continuously we are talking. We are producing spiritual material.

If I honestly look inside and see why I am talking… See, if I find out the reason why I am continuously talking every day and sharing, I can easily tell the reason why Buddha was talking for forty years. Buddha was teaching and preaching for forty years everyday. Everyday he was talking and preaching for forty years. And all other Masters happened - Shankara - he was writing, writing, writing, writing, writing, within the year of… within the age of thirty two he has finished establishing strong four monasteries and may be writing 200 volumes. If I look inside and find out the reason why I am talking and writing then I can very clearly tell you why the Masters go on writing and talking. The only reason I can find is constantly make you practice. Please understand, the spiritual path is such, Krishna says beautifully in Gita - by the nature senses are created looking towards the outside, looking in the outer world direction. So turning you in, turning you towards the enlightenment, turning you to your source is not that easy. Every moment you are again out.

If you listen to some book, the spiritual discourse, satsang or read… few minutes, you turn inside. By the time the satsang is over, you are already out. By the time the ideas leave your mind, you are already out. Constantly you need to be inspired to turn in, to go inside. That is why the Masters they go on and on and on talking and writing. Last six years, I have spoken more than five thousand hours, more than five hundred volumes are already transcribed; and My archives department says only seventeen percent they have transcribed. Only one-seven percent of what I have spoken, I have delivered is transcribed and is out in the form of books. Only twenty percent is edited and published and still I am adding material every day. Sometime I wonder, why? Then I realize continuously human being need to be told ‘look in, look in, look in, look in; turn in, turn in, turn in, turn in’ with various words, with various techniques, with various jokes, with various stories, in different forms, constantly human being need to be reminded, human beings need to be told: look in, turn in, live enlightenment.

That is the reason, all the spiritual Masters and leaders, they go on and on and on. The largest spiritual literature in the planet Earth exists in Sanskrit language. I don't know how many libraries you can fit in. If everything is collected I don’t know how many libraries you can make out of those collections. It is nothing but continuous expressions and discourses of the living Masters. The Masters who lived in the body who are teaching to the world. This sutra gives the reason why Masters are continuously talking, why spiritual literatures are continuously produced. This sutra is all about constantly inspiring you constantly practicing. See If I have to give you the essence of all the spiritual literatures; sometime if you read Buddha’s teachings, even Bhagavad Gita, Shiva Sutras you will feel many ideas are repeated, many ideas are repeated. Even in My discourse, people come and tell Me sometime “Swamiji you are saying the same idea.” I am telling the same because you are not listening. Understand I have to tell the same thing, because you are not listening.

Somebody asked Buddha ‘you are talking the same thing for last forty years’. He says, ‘If you would have heard, I would never have spoken it again’. The truth is only one thing, but constantly it is told again and again and again and again through different ways, through different methods, in different languages with different understanding. If I have to give the essence of everything; what Buddha taught, what Shankara taught, what Krishna taught, what Jesus taught, what Mohammed taught, what Zarathustra taught… what all these great Masters taught, the essence… the essence of everything why they have to continuously repeat again and again and again, the essence the reason for the continuous repetition is this one Sutra. Please understand Patanjali is the only Master who is not repeating the same ideas again and again, because in this one Sutra, he says very clearly why things should be repeated. Very clearly he explains why things should be repeated. After that he says, now I respect your intelligence. I am not going to repeat any more. The reason for repetition is we forget, we forget. Why again and again all the Masters go on and on and on repeating the same thing? This one sutra, if this one sutra is understood, you will understand why the Masters are repeating the same thing again and again, sometime same words again and again - without feeling bored - that is the greatness of them, that is the greatness.

I have conducted two hundred ASP’s and more than two hundred NSP’s. The… our Life Bliss Program first level and second level. First level program, second level program hundreds of times. If you see the audio recording or video recording it will be almost literally repeating. People ask Me, “How are you able to repeat the same thing day in and day out Swamiji? Are you not feeling bored?” I tell them, every time I repeat there is a new crowd in front of Me. And not only that, even if the old people are sitting, they have forgotten. If they know that what I am talking is repetition, only then I will feel little reluctant or bored. Either they have not heard, or even if they have heard, they have forgotten. 😀 Patanjali gives the essence, why again and again and again these truths are repeated.

Even though every individual words of Patanjali is independently intelligent to lead you to Enlightenment, he takes us to the deeper and deeper truths. He leads us to the deeper and deeper levels of the truths for living enlightenment- Jivanmukti…. Please understand, these are the thoughts, these are the ideas, these are the truths expressed by human beings when they started thinking, when they started visualizing, when they started experiencing fresh, alive truth as it is, not altered for the sake of vested interest of the outer world or for the sake of marketing or for the sake of organization.

Please understand, if any organization is funding a particular research and development, naturally the organization will have some benefit out of that research and development. So the direction in which the research and development goes, even the results will be influenced by that organization which is funding. Same way, in the religious thinking, in the religious research and development, inner science also, if they are part of some organization funded by some group, funded by some organization, naturally the R and D cannot be pure. The research and development will not be completely based on truth. The organization which is funding, the group which is standing, it's influence or shadow will continue to be there on that research and development but here fortunately when there was no organization to fund, when there was no organization to threaten, when human beings were doing this conscious research and development completely independent of the organization or constitutional structures, they are neither funded or frightened by the organization nor supported or frightened by any constitution of any country. It was pure truth. It was a pure research happened in forest.

The India’s first university is Naimisharanya. It was a forest and the registrar of the university, Vyshampayana, he records whatever is happening and thousands of professors, scientists, research scholars, millions of students from all over the world…. the thought, thinking trend which was result of the great research and development is this great scriptures. Even this research and development happened in a place called Chidambaram. That is also a forest and Patanjali created a community to keep these truths alive and spread these truths to the whole world. He created a beautiful temple how he experienced the Cosmos. See, Cosmos is not a thing, it is a happening. It is a continuous happening. So how he experienced Cosmos, that is why he describes god as a dancing Shiva, dancing auspiciousness. Cosmos is not a thing, it is an intense happening, intense explosion, intense expansion.

So how he experienced, he visualizes Shiva and created a temple and a community. These are the truths straight from the source. There was no need for any alteration, manipulation or interpolations, nothing is needed because nobody was funding him fortunately and nobody was threatening him. Neither fear nor greed existed in his inner space when he was doing this research and development and revealing the great secrets. You can see, it came out of pure inner space. That is why it is leading us to the same pure inner space. Every Sutra he takes us to the deeper and deeper and deeper levels of the truths. Still the community which he created in Chidambaram, that community accepts and follows him as a Guru. They don't accept or take initiation from anybody else. They are called Chidambaram Deekshitars. Still that community stays inside that city. They take a vow from the birth till the death, they live, they take birth, live and die in that city. They don't go out.

When I heard this I was surprised. When I went and studied with them… I had little time, I spent little time with them. I was shocked. You see, they are all highly intelligent, capable people but they decide their life is to keep, preserve this truth, do further research and development in this truth and maintain the temple, share this truth with the world, whoever comes there to study and do research and development. It is just amazing to see…. These great truths- pure, original truths in its purest form is presented to us in the form of Sutras. I don’t even want to say these truths are for spiritual life. I can say for any life this truth can add juice. These truths if it is understood, internalized, any life will become juicy especially the today's sutras, today's aphorisms. I can say, if you feel connected and if this one truth clicks with you, you will live celebrated being, you will live as a free being from this moment from today. It is a very powerful truth on vairagya. Let Me read the Sutra: Drushtanu Sravika Vishaya Vidrushnasya Vasikara Sajna Vairagyam

I know you may not understand the words but I wanted you to hear that original words, the words directly from Patanjali. I will give translation but the words directly from Patanjali, it has its own sanctity. One amazing thing, the beauty in the vedic tradition, thousands of master happened. They write commentaries but they never touch the original sutras. It is sacred. Even if there is grammatical error, grammar mistakes, it is called Ashra prayoga means an enlightened sage is not bound by grammar in our Sanskrit language. What he uses is grammar. There is a definition. Because he is trying to express which is inexpressible, inexplicable, which is not normal, which is extraordinary, our grammar masters, our literary experts, they give exemption to the enlightened beings. They say whatever they use is grammar. It is called Ashra prayoga. So, you can't question when an enlightened master makes a mistake in language or anything. What he says becomes a new rule. Even if there is a Ashra prayoga, even if there are mistakes in rules or meaning or in arrangement, whatever he gives as a meaning is the meaning.

Here that is why the original truths are preserved as it is. Each Sutra can be a source for a think tank. Each Sutra can be a source for new intelligence, new awakening. Let Me give you the translation of the Sutra: Drushtanu Sravika Vishaya Vidrushnasya Vasikara Sajna Vairagyam The conscious withdrawal from the objects of the senses at the body, mind and spirit level leads one to a state of awareness which is called vairagya. There are… I am actually not even literally translating. I am translating from all possible dimensions. That is why I am adding few words. See, if you do a literal translation in Sanskrit, each word has four-five meaning. You can't pick up all the four-five meaning. You have to pick up only one meaning. So it looks very sterile. The translation looks very poor. The bull is reduced to ox. The whole life is lost. So in the translation, I am trying to cover as many dimensions as possible. Here I have twelve literal translations, twelve literal translations. There is a beautiful book giving different literal translations. I have so many literal translations. Maybe I will read one or two translations. Then you will understand how you can play with Sanskrit. The same Sutra, one guy translates, the mastery one who has lost craving for all matters experienced and those of spoken in the traditions is called dispassion. This is the one translation.

Vivekananda’s translation: The subjugation of the thirst for objects seen or heard is non attachment. You won't even see one word from the first translation to the second translation. That is the beauty of Sanskrit. That is the beauty of Sanskrit. So in My translation, I am trying to give you, I am trying to cover all the dimensions of each word. Anyhow, fortunately I am alive, sitting. So I can add the meaning of each word, each word from different dimension so you can understand what really Patanjali means, what really Patanjali wanted to tell us.

Thanks to this Kindle which provides all translations. The modern day technology has really helped us. The conscious withdrawal from the objects of the senses at the body, mind and spirit levels leads one to a state of awareness which is called vairagya. So the key, master key, keyword is vairagya. Understand that word. I can say, the most misunderstood word in all spiritual traditions, all religions, all spiritual groups and all spiritual literatures is this one word- vairagya. The most misunderstood word is this vairagya, this word. I have a story for you. It may be myth or just a story.

In those days there was no printing press. So in all monasteries, all the books were produced by handwriting. So in a monastery where the original Bible is preserved secretly, they make a copy from the original Bible and they preserve that original without touching because of the fear of damaging it. From the copy, they copy. Thousands of copies have been made. The fear of damaging the book for more than hundred years, they have not touched the original. Suddenly one day, the father superior was found crying, weeping, wailing. All the followers, they questioned him, “What happened? Why are you crying? Why are you weeping?” “No, today I happened to see the original book. There was a mistake, one letter mistake from the original to what we are copying and circulating and what we ourselves read, read for last hundred years.” They said, “Only one letter, it's okay, leave it. Why are you worried so much about it? Why are you crying? We will correct it.” He said, “No just one R is missing.” They said, “We will correct it. Why are you crying for it?” “No, that changed many people lives, people's life.” They asked, “What? Why?” “The original book says ‘celebrate.’ We just removed the word R…. Letter ‘r’ is very important. One word misunderstood, changes the whole tradition, purpose, energy, direction of your very life.”

Please understand, I am talking from My own experience. Nine years I lived in all different monasteries belongs to different religions and different traditions including Buddhist, Jains, Christian monasteries, and in Hinduism, all different traditions: Naga, Aghori, Shaiva, Vedanta, Shakta, all different monasteries. I am an insider. I am an insider. From My experience I tell you, this one word, misunderstanding of this one word has changed the whole direction in which the energies are put and I can say, misunderstanding of this one word is responsible for so many millions of people dedicating their life and not becoming enlightened.

Just yesterday in the press meet, journalist asked Me, “Swamiji, when I see Your discourses, when I read Your books, You make the whole thing so simple, straight. I feel enlightenment is here and now. Then why people are not getting enlightened?” Millions of people are dedicating their life for this. In India, we have ten million people dedicated their life only for practicing and spreading spirituality. You will be shocked. Our population is only hundred and twenty crore, just 1.2 billion but ten million, one crore, practically almost one percent, one percent of the population dedicated its life for practicing and spreading spirituality. We have registered aanyasis. Sanyasis and sadhus and acharyas means who has a address, whose full time is only this, registered, known. sadhus, priests, preachers, the swamis who have dedicated their life for practicing and spreading. The Brahmin priests and all put together: one crore. It was right. Her question was right. “Why then people are not becoming enlightened?”

This one word, misunderstanding of this one word changed the whole direction of the energy. I have seen, I have seen how people take up this Sanyas life. The youngsters, highly intelligent, educated, when they read, study about the Brahmacharya or sanyasa and all these great ideas, mainly the truth of enlightenment, they are simply inspired, thoroughly inspired. They take up the life. When they start living, suddenly, somehow the direction is changed, the direction gets changed due to some reason- misunderstanding or lack of understanding or unawareness. The goal, instead of being enlightenment, slowly turns it away to be unattached.

Please understand, this word needs to be understood, this word ‘vairagya’. All the problems in the outer world, the problem which comes to you- fear and greed and the constant irritation, constant suffering, internal torture you go through is just because you did not understand this word. Same way, all the problems which these so-called spiritual seekers go through, even that problems are not just because this word is not understood. I have seen these people. They take up sanyas life for the sake of enlightenment. By and by, they forget the idea that enlightenment is the goal and they put all their energies only in vairagya or I can say, misunderstood idea of vairagya. They spend their whole life in detachment, detachment, detachment. Instead of understanding the vairagya’s importance or the right meaning, they started using this idea to postpone enlightenment.

Please understand, this word needs to be understood. Raga means attachment. Araga means detachment. Viraga means beyond attachment or detachment but in the normal understanding viraga, vairagya is always understood as a detachment. Big problem, the moment people hear the word detachment, they say, “Oh! Then we should throw away all the wealth.” Please understand, how choosing wealth is wrong, same way when you give up the wealth, you are choosing poverty. That is also wrong. Vairagya means choicelessness. Being in choiceless state. We always miss this understanding. First we understand the word Raga and Araga and Viraga. The big foolish thing, stupid thing people do, earlier they were running behind wealth, choosing, choosing, choosing, choosing, choosing, choosing. Then suddenly when the energy turns, when the energy shifts, now they are running behind poverty. Extreme renunciation.

Beautifully Buddha describes this problem. One king comes to him and wants to become a monk. Buddha says, “I will take one year to initiate you as a monk because you came from the… this extreme. You will naturally go to this extreme. Come back to the middle after seeing this extreme. Only then I will initiate you.” This guy says, “What do you mean? I wanted to renounce everything. I have come to you.” Buddha says, “I know. I understand but your idea about renunciation, what you have is not real renunciation.” And it was exactly true. When he joined the community, he started going to this extreme. When he was a king, whole day eating, sleeping, enjoying and that story describes, even in his staircase there was no railing. There was women standing next to him just to hold him. That is the way he lived. Now when he takes the other end, he goes to this extreme. No food, no water, just drying his body. He is taking revenge.

Understand, if you need enlightenment, Jeevanmukti, choicelessness, that is what needs to be experienced, not choosing the other end. Now when he choose poverty, again you are choosing. It is a big problem. Either they choose wealth or they choose poverty. They choose any one extreme. They cannot be in the middle. They cannot live their life with awareness. Living with awareness is too much. That is too much. “We don't want. We want just set of rules. Swamiji, you just tell me what should I do.” It cannot happen in that way. I cannot tell you what you should do. I can only say what state you should be in. I can only state what state you should be in, not what you should be doing. Here Patanjali when he says vairagya, he means the state in which he wants you to be in, not the action which he wants you to be doing. We have a very big misunderstanding. This one Sutra, this one word misunderstood creates the whole confusion.

I have seen, I have seen the monks who leave their homes, leave everything for the sake of enlightenment. After sometime their whole internal struggle has become how to maintain the detachment, how to be in poverty. They are constantly struggling and training their body to maintain that detachment. Their whole energy is spent, their whole internal struggle is redirected towards poverty instead of enlightenment. Around the age of 40-50, they come to a conclusion, enlightenment is not possible. At least let me live a sanyas life means poverty, chastity, purity. They take up this and I have asked them, “What is your main struggle, Swamiji inside?” They say, “Maintaining this sanyas life.” It is a worst to thing can happen to a human being. You renounce the whole thing for some purpose and that idea also is misunderstood. That idea also misunderstood. Unimaginable, unimaginable!

In the Upanishads and Puranas, there are some descriptions about sins. One is, telling a lie to a soldier and asking him to give up his life. Sending soldiers to the war by promoting a lie, by telling a lie. Here it is almost the same thing. If this idea is not understood by a sanyasi and he lives a sanyas life.... see, sanyas life is almost going to war internally not externally, internally and if you have not understood the truth what for you are waging the war, then it is the worst sin. I have seen these people who have taken up this sanyas life, they are not bad people. They take up with so much of enthusiasm, intensity and courage but just this one idea, misunderstanding of this one idea, they are not only they miss the enlightenment, they live such a depressed life, such a depressed life.

Understand this one word- vairagya. Please understand, vairagya does not mean giving up all the wealth. It is neither running behind the wealth nor giving up all the wealth: living a liberated life. How to live a liberated life? That is a big question. They say, “Swamiji, we understand we have to work and make wealth and enjoy and we understand give up everything, live in poverty. We understand both. What do You mean by liberated life?” Understand this one truth. This one truth will bring real vairagya inside you. Please understand, as long as we feel insecure, we go on accumulating, accumulating, accumulating, accumulating, accumulating, adding as long as we feel the matter will add value to our spirit. We go on adding, accumulating, adding, accumulating, adding. Suddenly one day we feel tired of the efforts which we are putting for accumulation.

Actually people who choose poverty, they don't even choose hating wealth. They hate the effort to create and maintain. It is unconscious laziness. The intention to take the responsibility of acquiring and maintaining. When they lack that, suddenly they decide, “Let me renounce.” Whoever decides to renounce with that fear of responsibility…. understand, fear of insecurity makes you create more and more wealth. Fear of responsibility means now you have to maintain, now so many things comes along with the wealth.

Ramakrishna says a beautiful story. Ramakrishna is the great enlightened master, architect of modern day Hinduism. He is the architect of modern day Hinduism, a very powerful master. He says, there was a eagle which caught a fish. It was flying with that fish. Hundreds of crows were chasing him. The fish felt.... the eagle felt tired that it could not fight with these crows. It just threw the fish and came and sat and eagle suddenly saw, all the crows are behind the fish and he is relaxed. So eagle threw the fish not because it doesn't want to eat the fish or it became vegetarian. No. It was not able to stand the fight of the crows and the crows encroaching in his space and the responsibility which comes along with the wealth. You have to have fire alarm, this alarm, that insurance, this insurance and it goes on and on and on and on and after that in the fine print something says, your house owners insurance does not cover flood insurance. Homeowners' insurance does not cover flood insurance.

Anyhow, the responsibility, when it becomes too much, suddenly you choose poverty. You choose poverty not because you don't enjoy the wealth or you don't want the wealth or you don't want the comforts and luxuries added by the wealth, you don't want the responsibilities and stress and tension added by the wealth. That is the truth. When you renounce the wealth, you go to that extreme. You choose poverty. You choose poverty. I have seen sometime, people spend more money to be in poverty. No, really. Vairagya misunderstood. Vairagya was not understood properly. The so-called vairagis, I can say, almost all complications and problems are created by them. If they are free to have a cup of coffee in any chai shop or cup of milk in any chai shop, that will be lot more easy but they have their own ideas. “No, no, no, no, no. That will be very costly milk or rich milk. I want a simple cow’s milk.” So naturally what has to be done? With one vehicle, cow has to go with them.

Many time vairagya misunderstood caused too much to the society than simplicity. These guys don't renounce because they don't enjoy the wealth or they don't feel joys of the comforts or luxury. Suddenly they feel too much needs to be done to maintain it. So they renounce or some situation which says, which tempts them the other part you can play your game much better way. Sometime even for the sake of name and fame people renounce. I have seen, even people giving donation for name and fame. In the temples, the especially temples suffer with the money smell, money smell. I have seen rich guys smell. They will donate some board. The deity’s name. The deity’s name will be six inch and the donor’s name will be twelve inch and you don't know whether the shrine is the deity or the donor’s shrine. No really, it is the deity shrine or the donor’s shrine, you will not even know about it.

And in the tube light, they will donate a tube light to the temple and in that tubelight in black paint their name, their forefather's name, their grandmother's name, the grandfather's name in all their memory they have donated and their son and daughter’s name will be there in black paint. If you switch it on, only black words will be seen in that wall. Really. For some reason we renounce, we give up. Please understand, any reason if you give up the outer world wealth, you see, when you are feeling insecurity you accumulate, accumulate, accumulate and when you feel loaded, stressed with this wealth and tired, unable to handle all the things needed to maintain that wealth, then you suddenly give up. Giving up because of laziness, not because of anything else. Now you claim this as a vairagya. No. Please understand, giving up for any reason is Araga not Viraga. Detachment, not going beyond attachment or detachment.

Here Patanjali says, he is not promoting detachment. He is promoting going beyond attachment or detachment. How can that happen? How can that happen? Understand this truth. How? That understanding, the click happened in Me, let Me describe…. Now I am going to speak some of the deep mystical experiences which may not be commonly understood by logic. Please understand, just because common logic does not understand, do not say, do not think that does not exist at all. All the scientific discoveries which are your everyday life today, twenty years before nobody can imagine that cell phone is possible. Thirty years before nobody can imagine just by pressing a button the ocean of knowledge, internet will be opened in front of you but now it is true. Twenty years before which you can't comprehend with your logic. Just because you did not comprehend you are not able to understand, if you said, “No, no, no. It is impossible, forget about it.” No, it is truth today. Sometime just because our logic did not understand, common logic is not able to cope up with it, don't say it doesn't exist.

I am trying to share some of the mystical experiences, the truths. Please understand, if you go to a lawyer and ask the legal opinion, he will give you the legal opinion of that country: how that country functions, how you need to cope up and what all the loopholes, all those legal opinions he will be able to give. Same way, I am giving you the legal opinion of the Cosmos- how the cosmos functions. Please understand, the law of the cosmos is what we call Dharma. In Sanskrit, we have a word, ‘dharma’ means the law of the whole cosmos, how the cosmos functions. One great thing in the vedic tradition, the whole country's constitution was the constitution of the cosmos. We never had constitution written by human beings. Maybe after independence, India had its own constitution written by human beings but originally our civilization had constitutions written by the masters who experienced the constitution of the cosmos. Our visionaries have experienced the constitution of the cosmos, the dharma.

Rishis, smritikaras... The rishis and the visionaries of our civilisation are the people who experienced the laws of the cosmos. Understand, I am giving you the law of the cosmos, legal opinion of the cosmos, how the cosmos functions, how the universe functions. If you understand this one truth, the vairagya, you can understand. The vairagya can be understood if you know how the cosmos functions. If you are not able to connect with what I am saying, I apologize sincerely but I want to confirm and assure what I am talking is truth, simple truth which is My own experience which I understood. In thousands of ways I experienced this truth in My own life, in My own life.

Please understand, I am responsible for what I am talking. I know what I am talking is going to be seriously considered for your day-to-day life and I am responsible and I feel responsible for the people who are following My ideas. I am not here to talk whatever comes to the mouth or irresponsibly. “Ah, if they follow, it is up to them. The rights or loss or profit or benefit, all these things are up to them.” No, be very clear. I am sensitive and I understand many of My sincere disciples and devotees, they literally follow whatever I am saying. With that responsibility…. you see, if you are going to a lawyer, if the relationship is professional, that is different. If it becomes personal, he feels ethically bound, morally bound to give you all the honest opinions.

Same way, if we have the relationship, already I know there are hundreds of you who have relationship, personal relationship with Me, commitment with Me. It is like a Guru-disciple relationship. So I know many of you are sincerely taking what I am saying and literally following. Understand, with that responsibility I am talking to you. It is like a…. you see, in the US only I saw ads. They say that this is the medicine, for some medicines in the advertisements, this is the medicine most heart specialist doctors prescribe for their own family means the medicines’ quality. It is like a…. you see, if you are marketing if you are giving some ideas to somebody, marketing, 20% truth, 80% marketing. And if you are telling something to your family, 80% truth, 20% marketing. If you are telling something to yourself, it will be naturally 100% truth. There cannot be marketing. For example, there is a fire. If there is a fire, naturally I will tell My right hand, “Hey, don't go near. Don't touch. Move out.” Means when I tell something to Myself, it is a pure truth. Whatever knowledge I know, whatever knowledge I have, I circulate it to all the parts of Me so that I am safe and I am living happily.

See, how whatever ideas, understandings, knowledge you have gets circulated to your own system to make your life happy and enrich your life happy, with that way, the same way, I am circulating this knowledge to all of you. Please understand, I am sharing this knowledge with all of you feeling that you are My very own part, My very own being. You see, if I say to My right hand, “Hey, move. There is a fire. Don't go,” I don't have to give logical arguments.“ In 1992, there was a scientific research done. 999 people were sent near fire and except seven, all other had a severe injuries. So based on this report, 99.99 people who touch the fire will have some form of degree one, degree two, degree three injuries.” I don't have to convince My right hand. I just say, “Get out!” and it does.

Understand, with that intimacy, I share a truth with you, I share a truth with Me. I am sharing this truth with Me but I can say, with this one truth internalized, suddenly the vairagya will be there. Internalize this truth. The truth is: whatever you are worthy of, can never be taken away from you; whatever you are not worthy of, can never be added to you. Whatever wealth you are worthy of, the responsibility you are taking, the love you are worthy of, the commitments you are making, the relationships you are worthy of, the understandings you retain…. please understand, for wealth, you need to take the responsibility, for love you need to make commitments, for relationships, you need to feel connected. For each thing which you need in your life, whatever you are worthy of can never be taken away from you.

When I say I really mean. For example, this moment, due to some accident or some reason if somebody dies, for example, if somebody dies, what intelligence, wealth, love, life, relationships he had, the moment he dies, he takes another one body. He just appears as a bubble somewhere else with the same wealth, love, life, understanding and intelligence. Nothing is ever taken away from you. Nothing is ever taken away from you. Please understand, it may be new, surprising, shocking for you. You may think, “No. no, no, in my life I constantly feel whatever I have I am just tying, tying, tying and keeping. If I relax even one finger, something is taken away.” You are constantly feeling, you are constantly feeling that you are in the center of a flood and whatever you are able to hold, only you are able to hold, everything else is going away, slipping in the flood. It is not. It is not. It is not the truth.

Somehow from the young age, the idea of insecurity which is put inside you is responsible for the feeling which you are having that you are constantly supposed to swim against the current holding your wife, kids, house, car, everything in one, one finger, one, one hand and wherever you are little relaxed or weak or tired, that will be taken away in the flood. Please understand, just internalize this one truth. What do I mean by the word internalizing? In your life take up this one truth which I am sharing that whatever you are worthy of, can never be taken away from you; whatever you are not worthy, even if you try to accumulate will never stay with you. You will never be able to live it, enjoy it. This one truth, internalize this one truth means see every time when incidents happen in your life, analyze that incident with this one understanding. Then you will start internalizing this truth.

Please understand, have little sympathy towards this truth and try to analyze. Suddenly you will see, so many wonderful secrets will be revealed to you. So many wonderful new secrets will be revealed to you about your life. I have seen each one of us carry a clear blueprint about our life inside us. That blueprint only is expanded in our life. If you go on changing that blueprint, naturally the life also will change. Please understand, without changing the blueprint, any change you are making in the outer world will never stay with you. I have seen people. If the blueprint is for richness, even if they choose poverty, they will be caught, they will be choosing poverty, they will be possessing poverty.

Possessing poverty is equivalent to possessing richness means you are possessing. I have seen. I have seen these renunciates, the people who renounce. They will renounce their home, their farm, their agricultural land, their wealth and run away to Himalayas- the Rishikesh or Kedar or Badri, some temple. They will be sitting outside the temple and begging for their food and living a life but they will be fighting for that place where they sit everyday. I was an insider. I tell you from My experience. They renounced hundreds of acres land and they came to Haridwar, they came to Rishikesh, they come to some temple but everyday, they sit in the same place outside a temple for their food, begging. And after few days they get attached to that place, means what? Equivalent to attachment to your few hundred acres. At least there you have a document.

And I have seen people. They will give up everything and have only one water pot, kamandalu but they will get so attached to that kamandalu, mad about the kamandalu, they will wash, wash, wash, wash, wash. I have seen one Sadhu. Per day, hundred time he will wash. He is called Kamandalu Baba, the Water pot Baba because his whole life is centered on that water pot. From morning till night, he will be polishing, polishing, polishing, polishing, polishing. These small kids who are living around the temple, to tease him, they will just throw little cow dung on that. Understand, it is not renunciation. He has not changed the blueprint. The blueprint has not changed. So naturally the level of attachment, the level of suffering is same. How he feels secured with the… how he was feeling secured with the property and how he was feeling insecure if the property is taken away, the same thing he is feeling with his kamandalu. He feels very safe if that kamandalu is shining and fresh. He feels same insecurity if a small dot comes to his kamandalu. Means what? There is no renunciation. There is no renunciation.

Understand, renunciation can happen, vairagya can happen only with this one understanding: Whatever you are worthy, whatever responsibility you take, whatever commitment you make, whatever you are able to handle will never leave you. Even death cannot separate that to you, from you. Whatever you are not worthy, even if you think you have legally in documents, you will not be living it, you will not be enjoying it, you will not be having it. You may think you have beach house, clubhouse, resorts here, there, everywhere but only your watchman and security will be enjoying, not you. Legally maybe it is yours but they will only be enjoying. And even if you go there, I have seen people all over the world. They can't enjoy something unless it is legally theirs. These guys go to Miami, Hawaii. In India, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Himalayas, they go. Such wonderful scene, such joy, beauty they can't enjoy.

First thing, they will plan how to own a apartment or a resort in that place. They will start calculating, “I think I should have an apartment here. Then I can come every year for vacation and stay here.” They will start planning. I have seen people who go on buying apartments and beach houses in every vacation place will never be able to have vacation. They will never have vacation because they are too busy buying another one vacation home somewhere. How will they have vacation? And this guy who is just a watchman, he is enjoying the vacation homes. He goes on making. That is what I call Kubera’s wealth. In vedic tradition, two kinds of wealth is described- the Kubera wealth and Lakshmi wealth. Kubera is called yaksha, a Demigod. His wealth he goes on accumulating, accumulating, accumulating. Neither he enjoys nor he lets others enjoy nor he allows others to enjoy. Neither he enjoys nor somebody else can enjoy.

You can say it's almost like Wall Street. Goes on accumulating only number, number, number, number, number and suddenly that number falls. Why who knows? Nobody knows…. Fictions being sold in fractions. Fictitious properties and fictitious ideas, fictitious things being constantly sold in fraction. Kubera’s wealth. And nobody knows why it gets accumulated. Nobody can enjoy. Nobody can live. Nobody knows what is going to be done with it. It is there, it is there, it is there for future, for future, for future. When is the future is going to come? Nobody knows. Kubera’s wealth. Wealth accumulated out of insecurity. Please understand, that wealth will never be useful when you are really in need because when need comes you think, “No, no, no, maybe worse needs will come. For that let it be there. No, no, no, maybe worser time may yet to come. Let it be there.” Kubera’s wealth and Lakshmi's wealth means circulating wealth. The wealth, she is wealthy but constantly showering. Lakshmi is always described as a deity, god, goddess showering wealth. She is constantly showering.

Two kinds of wealth we have. Wealth which we enjoy. Wealth, somebody is sitting on it. Nobody knows who is going to enjoy. I have seen in India. In India, the habit of keeping it for generations is there. Keeping it for generations. These guys, these old guys, they will be sitting on the whole wealth. They will not even have a basic comforts for themselves but they will be sitting on crores of rupees properties and they will not let their kids also enjoy. Not only they will not have a car, they will not even have their kids to have two wheeler. They will be sitting on that wealth and poor guys! Our civilisation is such that only after the father’s death, the wealth can come to you. These fellows will be sitting and praying everyday…. Now you know what they will be praying.

Understand, now I want to tell you something. I have really seen in many of My experience or all over the world I am traveling and even in India every village I walk. I spent nine years walking, spending My time in different villages of India studying the culture and doing research and development and meditating and living. See, when you go to place, you see the hotel and casino or beach or a restaurant but when I go to places, I see people. They talk to Me. I talk to them. They share their problems. I see the culture and people. From that experience I tell you, the people who are so possessive about their property and wealth, even after they die, their spirit, it becomes like a Yaksha and sits on the property. Some litigation will happen. Nobody can enjoy that property. It will be there lying for years.

In India if you go to court, that's all. The other day I was reading an article which says, all the cases which are there in Indian Supreme court to settle, if there are no new cases are filed from today, it will take two hundred and forty six years…. and the property cases are all civil cases and what to do? It goes on and the Yaksha’s property, means you can see if you… if you…now what I say, if you internalize and look back to your village, your city, you will see at least four-five properties. That old man would have been so terribly attached to that property, after his death, some litigation will happen. Some problem will happen. That property will be lying without any use just like that. It is a big problem- Kubera's wealth, which is never useful. Nobody can use it.

Understand, if you are caught in the insecurity, all the wealth which you create even while you are alive you will be only Yaksha. You will be only be Yaksha. Neither you will be enjoying nor you will be letting others to enjoy. I have seen people. These kids, when you get a new toy for them, neither they will play nor they will share it with the friends. Immature. They don't know the purpose of the toy. Purpose of the toy is play, enjoy and break it. Over! Same way, we also don't know the purpose of the wealth. When we don't know, it is like a Kubera's wealth. Kubera's wealth is not wealth, it is responsibility. Just shear load on your system, that's all. Just shear stress on your body, mind and system. If people can understand this Kubera's wealth and Lakshmi's wealth, these secrets of wealth, the whole problem of the recession will be solved.

All we need, the basic problem is not from GDP, it is not from GDP. It is from understanding of the decision makers. Understanding is the problem, not from the GDP. The basic problem is understanding. I am talking to you about vedic economy. If this science is applied, it can become Applied Vedic Economy science. The Kubera's wealth and Yaksha’s wealth.... Sorry... Kubera's wealth and Lakshmi's wealth. Lakshmi's wealth is constantly circulating, enriching everybody. Kubera's wealth is, neither you can enjoy nor he will enjoy. The Kubera's wealth should be shown to public as a security but no need to keep it. That is a deep understanding which we need to have. Wealth created, maintained out of insecurity brings more and more bondage and fear; wealth created out of overflowing energy and intelligence and clarity and freedom brings more and more freedom. So the basic attitude with which you start functioning is going to play the role whether you are going to be Kubera or Lakshmi.

Understand, out of freedom, freedom which comes out of this one understanding- Whatever I am worthy of will never be taken away from me; Whatever I am not worthy of, I will never be able to enjoy or live. This one understanding suddenly liberates you. Please understand, even if death comes, it will not be taken away from you. This one understanding, trust, simply the fear of death will disappear. What is fear of death? You are afraid whatever you made last sixty-seventy years you have to leave it and go and start making again newly. That is the whole fear. See, now all the old relationship even though it is devil, known devil, you are comfortable with it. Now you have to leave this whole thing and go and start from new. Who knows where I will be? Who knows from where I have to start? Who knows what kind of parents will be? Who knows what kind of wife I will have? Who knows what kind of child I will have? Who knows what kind of relationships I will attract? Relax!

The cosmos runs based on dharma, based on dharma. You are not an accident: You are a conscious incident. Whatever you carry- the intelligence, the energy, the relationships, the love, the wealth, the awareness, everything stays with you even if you die. It is like one bubble. You have just get drowned here and appear somewhere, that's all. If this one truth you are able to internalize, you will be liberated from the fear of death this moment. Nothing to lose. There is no need to worry about the fear of unknown. There is nothing unknown. There is nothing unknown and you will just get drowned here and appear somewhere there. It is like a one bubble will be going inside and it will be coming out somewhere else. If you understand this one truth you will really start working altering your inner blueprint.

Understand, altering your inner blueprint is what I called unclutching or living enlightenment. That is what I call abhyasa, spiritual practice. Suddenly you know altering your inner blueprint is much more important. That becomes first priority because if your blueprint is altered, you will start attracting right things in this life and even if you leave this life, in the next life you will constantly attract right things. Altering the blueprint is what I call spiritual practice or meditation. This one truth: nothing will taken away from you whatever you are worthy of; nothing can be added to you if you are not worthy of. If this one truth is internalized, you will suddenly have tremendous freedom, relaxation, great freedom and liberation in this moment. You will feel, “Oh God! I don't have to carry so much of insecurity, so much of constant fear I am carrying.” Please understand, we are carrying constant fear.

See, wherever you are walking your hell is with you, within you. It is like you carry your own canopy when you go for picnic in your car. You stop in the camp ground and put your canopy and sit inside. Same way, you don't even have to put it, it is there. The constant fear and insecurity we carry can be healed this moment if you internalize this one truth. Only one thing I can tell you, in the Eastern tradition, in the vedic tradition, to find out whether something is truth or not, the touch stone is, if the person who is talking to you is, doesn't have any vested interest, if he is a Jnanapurusha, Avatarapurusha, it is called Agama. What he says is accepted as pramana. Please understand, he may not have logic. He may not have right words to make you understand.

See, now what I am saying, I don't have scientific data. Just because I don't have a scientific data, just because it is beyond your logic, don't think what I am saying is lie. Just with this one scale if you understand I have no vested interest to tell this truth to you, I have no vested interest to convince this to you. I have no vested interest. If you are convinced and if you are all liberated and it is not that there is some company is going to fund Me. Each person you liberate you will have million dollar. Each person getting enlightened you will be given a million dollar cheque. No, I don't have a vested interest. Understand, when some truth comes out of a person who doesn't have vested interest, it is called Agama in our tradition. The vedic tradition we have a scale to find out whether something is true: Pramana. Pramana means truth, right knowledge. Three things: One, direct perception. Second, inference. Third, Agama, words of an Enlightened Master who doesn't have vested interest to promote the truth.

So, from the state of Agama I tell you, understand this truth: whatever you are worthy of will never be taken away from you, not only by a flood or natural earthquakes or these, that, including death cannot take this away from you. You may ask, “Then what about natural calamities? What about Katrina? What about Tsunami? All these things takes away wealth.” Please understand, if you look deep, if you take up each case and if you study.... I have studied. I have tried. Suddenly I see, the man who was rich and lost in some way because of his mental setup, in few days or few months or few weeks, he is back. No, wherever I go I am questioned, “What are you doing to clear this slum, Swamiji?” I tell them, “First thing I do, educating and clearing their blueprint of poverty.” Unless the blueprint is cleared even if they are given homes or houses are built, they rent that or sell it and come back to the slum. No, you don't understand. Unless conscious clarity starts happening, even if the wealth comes, they are not happy or comfortable with it.

Ramakrishna tells a beautiful story. Three ladies who sell fish, they went to fish market, sold their fish. They were returning to their village. It became late night. So, on the way they asked for a shelter in a flower shop. That lady was selling flowers. They asked shelter for that night. She said, “Why not? Please stay in the house. Stay in the shop.” Shop and the house is the same place. She said, “Lie down here.” The story says, all three ladies, the ladies who were selling fish, they were not able to sleep whole night because of that wonderful flower smell. They were tossing this side and that side., this side and that side. Suddenly they realized that they can't tolerate the flower smell and they brought their old fish basket and put little water on that, kept near the head. They slept peacefully. No, really!

First thing we need to understand, eradicate poverty from the consciousness. Understand, I have no reason to promote this truth. If you are liberated or if you become free, there is nobody who is going to give Me million dollar cheque or there is no other vested interest. I am simply bound by the ethics. Whatever knowledge I have, I need to circulate it inside My being. With that understanding, with that dharma, I am circulating this truth. Please understand, there are something as I was telling, if you are marketing to the outer world, 80% marketing, 20% truth. If you are telling your own family, 80% truth, 20% marketing. If you are telling yourself, it will be100% truth. This truth which I am talking to you, I believe. This is the prescription I swallow. This is the medicine I am living with. So this is the truth I live. I know for sure whatever I am qualified will never be taken away from Me. Whatever I am not qualified, even if I try to hold on hold on and on, I will never be enjoying it. With this one truth, with this one understanding, with this one realization, this moment you are liberated. You are liberated this moment from all the fear, insecurity constantly you carry, all the insecurity and fear you constantly carry.

The cosmos runs based on dharma. You see, just like there are some countries employment guaranteed, same way in the cosmos, honesty guaranteed, truth guaranteed. This is run by a person, run by a being who is compassionate, honest and intelligent. It is not an accident. Be very clear, the whole cosmos is not an accident: It is an order. It is auspiciousness. The person who believes this whole thing is run by intelligence is a theist. Person who believes the whole thing is chaos is an atheist, that's all. If you believe the whole thing is chaos, no order, no auspiciousness, you are a atheist. Be very clear, atheism or theism does not come based on the person whom you believe or the ideas. This is the one truth. If you believe the whole thing is auspicious, order, you are theist. If you believe whole thing is chaos, you are atheist.

Understand, if you believe whole thing is chaos, depression is inevitable. Depression is inevitable because every step you have a fear. You don't know what to do. There is no direction. There is no direction. Why should you sit? Why should you stand? Why should you listen? Why not doing this? Why not do that? There is no order. When you understand cosmos moves in order, your whole being will move in an order. When I understood cosmos moves in an order, suddenly I realized My being is moving in an order. Understand, understanding the purpose of cosmos and purpose of your existence and connection between the two is what I call awakening to the truth, awakening to the enlightenment. People ask Me, “Swamiji, just in six years, just in six years, how did You create such big mission? Millions of followers, devotees.” Wherever I go this FAQ. They are jealous, what to do? They can’t understand. They are jealous. They ask. Our whole mission is six years old. “How did this happen?”

Understand, I have not done it. Suddenly I awakened to the purpose of the whole Cosmos and purpose of Me and connection between the two. Cosmos is living through Me. I know the existence, purpose of the existence of the Cosmos, purpose of the existence of Me and connection between these two and a deep security, nothing is taken away, nothing will be taken away for which I am qualified. When that security lands on you, that feeling secured happens to you, what you experience is vairagya. Vairagya is not choosing poverty. It is not dumping your car, dumping your house, dumping your relationships, dumping your bank balance. It is very easy to dump your wife because, you know, it is so much of responsibility…. I have some stories. It is very easy to dump things. Understand, when you are in wrong direction, everything is in wrong direction, everything is in wrong direction and you go on complaining about everybody. Understand, whenever you complain, you are in wrong lane. I have a story for you.

An old man was driving on the freeway when his car phone rang. It was his wife. “Harman,” she cried, “I just heard on the news that there is a car going the wrong way on 280. Please be careful.” This guy says, “Hell,” exclaimed Harman. “It is not just one car, hundreds of them.” So, whenever you say the whole world is chaos, you are in chaos. Whenever you say the whole thing is in order, you are in order. Understand, atheist continues to suffer. He has to continue to suffer. He will continue to suffer because he is driving in wrong lane…. He is bound to be depressed because he sees, he feels, he thinks the whole thing is chaos, whole thing is inauspiciousness. He thinks life is a curse, Existence is a curse, they are here to be punished. If you think you are here to be punished, you are in hell; If you think you are here to be fulfilled, you are in heaven, that's all. Hell and heaven are not geographical: it is psychological. Understand, it is psychological.

So be very clear, it is you who is going to choose. If you think the whole thing is an order, whatever I am qualified it is never going to be taken away from me. Suddenly that security, that strong security which you feel, liberates you from the insecurity. Neither you are attached nor you are detached. Understand, detachment is also an attachment to detachment. You don't choose poverty. You don't choose richness. Suddenly you are living in vairagya. Living in vairagya means living in order with the Cosmos, living in that understanding, living with that understanding, living with the understanding.... Understand, if you carry this one understanding you know life is eternal. Life is eternal. Now whatever intelligence you have, qualification you have, bio-memory you have, you will have wealth for that, intelligence for that, people around you and joy around with that, you will be living.

When you live, if you grow in the intelligence, naturally in the next birth, again you will attract that kind of people, that kind of wealth, that kind of situations and you will live, drop, again if you have expanded your intelligence, you will attract the next level or if you have contracted in your intelligence, you will attract the lower level. You know the whole secret of life, the whole order of life. Your whole emphasis will become now expanding the intelligence. The energy shift will happen. The energy shift will happen. This one understanding will lead you to vairagya and vairagya is living enlightenment. Vairagya is living enlightenment.

Please understand, many time we don't know the life, we don't understand the life. We go on and on and on suffering with insecurity and wasting our time in changing the small, small spare parts, changing small, small spare parts. One guy…I have one more story: One guy calls his mechanic and shouts, “You said this is the last battery I need to change for my car. In six months, battery is dead.” Mechanic replies, “Is it so, sir? Sorry, I did not think your car will last long for six months.” If you are too busy in changing your spare parts, you will miss looking into the engine. If you are too busy, you see, changing the house, changing the car, changing the relationship, changing the outer world things whether because of attachment or because of detachment, many time I have seen these guys, they choose to live homeless not because they don't want the comforts of the house, it is just they don't want to take the responsibility. And they think that is the… they have become attached to be homeless. They become attached to that kind of a lifestyle. So constantly changing, whether upgrading or degrading your spare parts is not going to be helping. Change, bother about the engine. That is what I call vairagya.

Vairagya means turning your attention to the blueprint of your life which you are carrying and working on the blueprint and letting the external things to change as blueprint changes it. Neither feeling constantly attached because of insecurity nor trying to get into poverty because of the stress and strain of the wealth. Living with this one understanding of altering the blueprint and letting things happen, living in that one tremendous understanding: whatever I am worthy of, will not be taken away from me, whatever I am not worthy of, can never be added to me. With this simple understanding, sometime people are not able to grasp even this simple understanding. Simple truth if you say, they say, “How do you know? How do you know?” I have a story for ‘how do you know’:

Wife shouts, “The car won't start. I think there is a water in the carburetor.” Husband says, “How do you know? You don't even know what is the carburetor is, what the carburetor is.” “I am telling you,” repeated the wife. “I am sure there is water in the carburetor.” “We will see,” mocked the husband. “Let me check it out. Where is the car?” Wife says, “It is in the swimming pool.” If you ask Me, “How do You know whatever we are worthy is never taken away, whatever we are not worthy can never be enjoyed,” if you ask, “How do You know,” this will be My answer. You are in the conscious pool. You are in the conscious pool. You are in the Dharma. You are in a place where dharma lives.

Please understand, there is no such thing as Iron age or kaliyuga. Except your depression, your unawareness and your unconsciousness to look into the truth, there is no such thing as Iron age or Kalyuga. People come and tell Me, “No, no, Swamiji, what You are saying is truth. Everything was dharmic in those days once upon a time long, long ago when Krishna was there, Rama was there,, Buddha was there. Now it is Iron age. Now it is kaliyuga.” Understand, people ask Me, “When will this Iron age end, kaliyuga end?” Iron age will end when you become aware. Kaliyuga will end when you become consciousness, nothing else. Buddhas continue to walk on the planet earth. Krishnas are continuously dancing in the planet earth. Ramas are continuously living in the planet earth. Ramakrishnas are again and again walking in the planet earth. Meera is still singing in the planet earth.

Understand, there is no such thing as Iron age. Dharma is still alive. Cosmos is still in order. Truth is still prevalent. It is we who never get awakened. It is we who never look into the truth. You go on asking, how the carburetor is filled with water. You go on and on and on asking. Look inside. Awaken to this one truth. Your whole life will get re-organised. The whole inner mental setup will get re-organised. The whole inner space will get re-arranged. The whole truth gets established. The whole thing gets… falls in tune with the truth. So with this one truth, understanding that nothing can be taken away from you whatever you are worthy of, understanding you cannot add anything to you which you are not worthy of. So you are your very consciousness. Your external life is expansion of inner blueprint. With this one truth, with this one understanding when you live, you are living in vairagya.

Just want to repeat the Sutra of Patanjali, what he means by the word vairagya once more: the conscious withdrawal from the objects of the senses at the body, mind and spirit level leads one to a state of awareness which is called vairagya. He is not saying renouncing, throwing it away, giving it up. If you give it up, you will be caught with something else. Unless you..... this is the word. Conscious withdrawal means changing, shift. Understanding consciously whatever you are worthy will not be taken away from you, whatever you are not worthy will never be added to you. With this one understanding, live with your house, live with your car, live with your bank balance, live with your relationships, live with your love. You will be living like a god on the planet earth. You will be living with such a great freedom, such tremendous freedom, such tremendous joy. You will live like a god on the planet earth. You will live like a god on the planet earth. Living like a god on the planet earth is what I call living enlightenment- Jivanmukthi.

So, the truth as expressed by Patanjali, as understood and experienced by Me, I am sharing it with you. Please understand, this one truth- vairagya, if this one idea is understood, you will see your whole life is new, illumined. With this one idea, suddenly you will see that you are rearranging, reorganizing all your decisions. Your idea about wealth will change, your idea about security will change, your idea about love will change, your idea about relationship will change, your idea about life will change, your idea about everything will change. If this one idea is not understood, we are in darkness. If this one idea is understood, we are in light.

Patanjali is taking us to the deeper level of this same idea- vairagya, in next Sutra. I think tomorrow I am not speaking here. Maybe you can watch in the internet. The whole thing is available in lifestream. Try to.... Patanjali is taking us to the next level of vairagya. He is giving us a beautiful technique to live the vairagya, means vairagya not only just from the outer world things, even from the inner world gunas, the characters. Character is not exactly guna. The inner world smells which you experience- activeness, inertness or restful awareness. Even from them, vairagya is Enlightenment. He is taking us to the deeper levels even from the Trigunas, three experiences we go through. One is dullness, depression. The other one is activeness, restlessness. The third one is restful awareness. Even from them, if vairagya happens, enlightenment happens. So Patanjali is leading us to the deeper level with the next Sutra. So now understand this one idea. This one idea will change your life. I have one story for you:

There is a terrible accident at a railway crossing when a train smashes into a car. No one is killed but the car’s driver taken the Train Company to court. At the trial, the railway engineer insists that he had given the driver ample warning by waving his lantern back and forth for nearly a minute. The court believes his story and the suit is dismissed. “Congratulations,” says the defense lawyer to the engineer. “You did superbly under cross examination.” “Thanks,” replies the engineer. Engineer adds, “But the Prosecuting Attorney sure had me worried.” “How is that?” Lawyer asked. “How did he make you worry?” Engineer replies, “At one point, I was afraid he may ask me if the damn lantern was lit.”

Understand, the whole trouble in the tradition, all the suffering in the outer world which comes out of our insecurity and the suffering which you create by accumulating wealth…. while you accumulate wealth and all the suffering which comes to you while you renounce the wealth because of the stress and strain and responsibility to maintain the wealth, all these problems are just because of one thing: the lantern was not lit. The word vairagya was not understood. Now understand this one truth: vairagya. All the sufferings which comes to you when you are materialistically acquiring, accumulating wealth. Even that suffering will disappear. Now you know you are consciousness. You change consciously that you want richness, raise your intelligence, take responsibility, wealth comes. There is no suffering during the process. You don't have to carry the constant insecurity during the transition period.

Same way, in the spiritual life, you don't have to continuously struggle to renounce and you don't have to constantly choose poverty, constantly torture you in the name of renunciation, go on disrespecting you, abusing you. If you miss one or two things in renunciation and create guilt, torture and choosing poverty, the whole big rut- suffering in the outer world, suffering in the inner world gets completely healed with understanding of this one word- vairagya. So lit your lantern. Let you all understand these great truths from Patanjali and achieve and radiate living enlightenment, Jivanmukhti. Let you all achieve and radiate the Eternal Bliss, Nithyananda. Thank you
