1988 - The SPH's premonastic home and street in Tiruvannamalai
Narration
The SPH's premonastic home where He was born and lived, is located in the famous Tiruvoodal street in Tiruvannamalai. The Tiruvoodal street is one of the four perimeter roads (called Mada veethi) surrounding the main Arunachaleshwarar temple in Tiruvannamalai. When the Lord Annamalayar (Arunachaleshwara, Paramashiva) comes out in procession, He travels through these four roads and graces the millions who throng the streets. The SPH's home therefore offered a classic view of the Lord in procession and His relatives used to congregate in His home during these festival times to have a good darshan of The Lord passing by. It is here that The SPH started His untiring Mission of reviving KAILASA for humanity from when He was a child.
Photos
Following are photographs of The SPH's home called AKS complex, where His large joint family occupied the first floor and left the ground floor for various shop owners to occupy. You can see the very rooms The SPH lived in, the window through which He would have the first sight of His Beloved Arunachala (Paramashiva in Hill form) every morning as soon as He woke up, and the terrace in which He had established His own home temple with a flower garden and offered worship continuously. You can also see the long walkway (exactly an auspicious 108 feet long) in the ground floor where The SPH would conduct all His ritualistic processions (exactly as it happens in the main Arunachaleshwara temple) with His own small deities carried on handmade palanquins. You can even see the footprints (captured on freshly laid cement in those years) of Mani, His paternal grandmother's (Anusuya Ammal) pet dog which was also very much a part of His rich childhood which included all beings - humans, animals, plants, Gods and Goddesses. The home as you see it here is the remodelled structure in June 1988 (when The SPH was 10 years old). Prior to that (1978 - 1988), the home was of an older form where too The SPH carried on all His worship and enriching activities of KAILASA. (The utensils seen are from recent years' occupation of the complex)
