Outdoor photo beneath a large spreading banyan tree with hanging aerial roots. A crowd of devotees, mostly dressed in white, stands and sits around a small shrine with a white ornate arched frame enclosing a red-and-gold deity murti. A woman in a lavender top at left has her palms pressed together in namaste, and a man in a green shirt stands in the foreground. No identifiable a person figure is visible in the frame, so this scene shows devotees gathered at a tree shrine during a temple visit.2011-11-21November 21 20112011-11-21Outdoor photo beneath a large spreading banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots. Under the canopy stands a white arched shrine housing an orange-robed deity murti surrounded by heaped red flowers on a dark base. Around the shrine, devotees in white and cream clothes stand with hands folded in prayer or gaze upward. In the foreground a woman in an orange sari and a woman in cream with a light shawl stand on dark stone slabs, and a man in white and a woman in green and teal are nearby. Red and white sashes are worn by some devotees. The setting is a grassy, earthy ground with trees and a low wall behind.2010-11-07November 21 20112011-11-21December 05 20112011-12-05December 05 20112011-12-05Outdoor temple scene under a large spreading tree with dappled light. A figure in saffron-orange robes, with a shaved head, walks toward a black stone deity murti set in a silver arch with a red garland and a bed of red flowers at its base. A crowd of devotees in white and pastel clothing stands in a semicircle, many with hands joined in prayer, including children in white and pink. A woman in a purple top and a young man in white stand in the foreground, facing the shrine. Whether the robed figure is the a person is uncertain from appearance alone, so the figure is described here only as a robed devotee.2011-11-21Outdoor photograph of a large crowd gathered beneath a broad, spreading banyan tree with aerial roots hanging from its branches. Most attendees wear white kurtas, white shirts and white sarees, with some in yellow and teal; a few wear garlands. A man in the foreground at right, in a white shirt with a garland, stands with his back to the camera facing the group. Woven mats lie on the ground at lower left. The scene suggests a gathering around a sacred tree, though no specific ritual is visibly confirmed.2009-12-02June 02 20092009-06-02Outdoor satsang session beneath a large banyan tree with aerial roots. A figure in saffron-orange robes sits on a red-cushioned throne at left, beside a green-curtained shrine with a deity murti under an arched white frame. Many seated participants in white clothes, some with white headbands and orange sashes, sit on mats and steps in front of the throne. Water bottles are placed near them, and a video camera on a tripod stands at right. Several people are visible in the middle and far background, and a small group stands near the trunk. Hard to say whether the seated figure on the throne is a candidate for Swamiji.2011-12-05October 06 20062006-10-06 +1 copiesOutdoor photo under a large spreading banyan tree, with a group of devotees gathered in a shaded clearing of packed earth. In the centre, a man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with a garland stands near a small pink-draped altar and a white arched shrine holding a garlanded deity murti. Nearby, a woman in a pale blue sari and a man in an orange shawl over white clothes hold offerings, and several people in white dhotis and orange stoles stand in a semicircle. A small boy in a striped shirt and a girl in a cream top and red skirt watch from the right, with a reflecting puddle on the ground. This appears to be a puja or padapuja at a shrine, though the exact rite is not legible.2006-12-27
