Straw or grass strands are laid across the bricks. Brass and silver vessels, a kalasha-style pot and a small oil lamp sit on a teal cloth beside it. Wooden bowls sit in the foreground, and a richly embroidered orange-gold cloth and a wooden seat appear at upper right. No people are visible.2007-02-16Outdoor homa ceremony on a sandy ground with a red and green tent backdrop and banana plants. In the foreground, a priest in white clothing with a yellow shawl sits at a low brick fire altar, gesturing with his hand while a small fire burns at the left edge. Nearby, another man in white with a yellow shawl assists beside the brick platform, which holds fruit, plates and offerings. To the right, a tiered stack of brass kalasha pots decorated with mango leaves and coconuts is arranged on white cloth. Dozens of people in white and colourful saris sit and stand in rows behind, watching the ritual.2010-07-24December 30 20062006-12-30December 30 20062006-12-30October 16 20162016-10-16September 03 20072007-09-03A close photograph of a tiered, stepped stone sri chakra-style yantra base or abhishekam pedestal, coated with white granular material. Behind it, a brass lamp stand or kalasha stands beside a teal cloth, with a sliver of a figure's orange-and-purple garment at the upper left edge. The scene suggests an abhishekam ritual; no person's face is visible and no one can be identified.2010-10-17A square homa fire pit built from white-painted bricks dominates the foreground, with a bed of sand holding dry sticks and a wooden ladle resting on a brass vessel of ghee-like offering. Dishes of sweets, fruit and prepared food are laid out on a table behind, and a brass deity murti with flower garlands and an ornate lamp stands at the right. Two people in plain cloth wraps are partly visible at the top edge, and a small brass oil lamp sits at the lower left.2006-10-21 +1 copies
