December 22 20062006-12-22A tiered arrangement of white conch-shaped shells stands on a stepped platform draped with red silk cloth edged in gold brocade, with rice scattered between the tiers. Brass oil lamps stand in rows at the left, and a black stone Shiva lingam with a yellow-orange flower garland sits in the background beside a brass throne with a golden base. Partial figures in orange and white clothing appear at the edges of the frame. The setting is a temple hall with a red-patterned floor mat.2018-04-14February 03 20172017-02-03A photograph inside a temple-style pavilion decorated with banana bunches, palm fronds and hanging leaf strings. In the foreground, a tiered mound of earth and white powder sits on a raised platform, with a small golden deity figure beside it. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts, some wearing orange shawls, bend or stand around the platform, one reaching toward the tiers. Behind them, a shrine decorated with marigold garlands holds a blue-skinned deity murti under a golden canopy. Oil lamps and a red umbrella are visible overhead.2006-07-16February 11 20072007-02-11A large pyramid arrangement of brass kalasha pots stacked in tiers on red draped platforms, each pot wrapped in white woven netting and crowned with green mango leaves and coconuts, with a tall tiered pot at the apex decorated with a red and white cloth and flowers. Brass oil lamps with white flowers stand at the right foreground. A man in white clothing stands at the far left edge beside a banner, and a figure in orange clothing appears at the right edge. Behind are trees, low buildings and red banners.2007-09-03Outdoor ritual scene at an open ground during a daytime-to-dusk gathering. In the foreground, a large tiered pyramid of brass-mesh-wrapped kalasha pots, each topped with a mango-leaf bundle and yellow-orange marigold-like flowers, is arranged on broad green banana leaves and a bed of white grains, set on a red cloth. A woman in white clothing stands at the left edge beside the arrangement, facing it. Behind, rows of seated devotees in white and colourful clothes fill the ground, and a few people stand near a white canopy and stage lights. Plain brick seating pads are arranged in rows. A pot-pyramid arrangement like this suggests a kalasha puja rather than a fire ritual; no fire is visible.2007-11-18April 14 20182018-04-14 +1 copiesMay 21 20062006-05-21A ground-level ritual setup on bare earth with no people visible. A large white kolam, a chalk rangoli, is drawn in ornamental floral and leaf patterns and bordered by a ring of yellow marigold garlands with red flowers. At the centre sits a small flower-decked tray with two potted green plants at either side. Behind, a striped woven mat in red, purple, green and white holds brass lamps, a brass vessel, small bowls, a metal tray and an open book. Further back, a raised platform is heaped with yellow marigolds, and a brass lamp stands at the top. Dry twigs in a woven basket sit at the left edge.2018-01-14 +1 copiesA photo inside a palm-thatched ritual pavilion decorated with banana bunches, hanging green leaf strings and tube lights.
