Blurry evening photograph of a devotional gathering indoors before a patterned curtain. A framed portrait of a woman in an orange garment and white necklace is garlanded with red and yellow flower garlands. Rows of brass oil lamps line both sides of the floor, their flames glowing. In front of the portrait, a woman in an orange sari sits cross-legged beside a lit lamp stand, and a person in a lavender top bends forward near offerings. Standing figures in white and blue-trimmed saris stand at the left edge, and a child in pink sits at the lower left. The portrait is a photograph of a printed picture, not a physical person.2011-04-05April 05 20112011-04-05A photograph of a devotional aarti in a dimly lit room with a dark red backdrop. A woman seen from behind, with a long black braid and white garment, holds a lit oil lamp toward a framed portrait garlanded with pink and white flowers. Its gilded arched frame surrounds a figure in an ochre-saffron garment and beaded necklace, though the figure's identity is not stated in any visible caption. Beside her, a woman in white with folded hands stands near the altar, and further right a woman and a man in white garments hold silver-wrapped lit torches and fold their palms in prayer. A small brass kalasha with flowers sits on a red-draped table below the portrait.2009-11-01A group of women and girls stand in a yellow-walled room holding small oil lamps lit for a devotional lamp offering. Another woman in white sits on the floor tending a lit lamp on a metal tray. In the foreground, two women with hands folded in anjali sit before a yellow tiered altar decorated with pink flowers, with a silver plate of offerings and a small oil lamp. In the foreground, a woman in white with a long braid stands with her back to the camera, holding a lit oil lamp toward the portrait. To the right, four devotees in white clothing stand with palms pressed together in prayer; one woman holds a silver-wrapped vessel with a lit flame, and a man on the far right wears glasses and a rudraksha-style beaded necklace. A gold-decorated brass vessel and flower offerings sit on a red table below the portrait. A colorful painted pillar appears at the upper right.2009-11-01A photograph of a dimly lit room with a white marble floor where women in saris sit in two long rows along the sides, facing a central altar. Many brass oil lamps with lit wicks are set on brass plates along the floor in front of them. At the far end, a decorated altar holds a deity murti or framed image garlanded with flower strands, with additional lamps and offerings. A single child in white clothing sits near the altar. Some women hold small brass items. The setting suggests a group puja or lamp-lighting ritual indoors. A small framed portrait hangs on the back wall, and a metal figure stands at the right edge.2011-04-15November 02 20072007-11-02November 01 20092009-11-01 +1 copiesA photograph of a shrine set up in an indoor hallway.
