A photograph taken at night on an open grassy field with a muddy path in the foreground. Several people in orange and saffron robes and white dhoti-style clothing move across the ground, some carrying objects. In the background, a group of people in white and orange stands in a line near a small raised red platform with a red umbrella, beside a red-walled building and trees. Bright light and smoke rise from the left, and a small fire glows on the ground near the center. A person in white clothing stands at the left edge. No single individual can be reliably identified from appearance here, so a person is treated as uncertain.

Night outdoor fire ritual in a open ground lit by street lamps, with thick smoke drifting through the scene. Many people in white and light clothing stand around small raised fire pits and brick platforms with flames and offerings. A man in white holds an object in front of him near a fire, and a person wearing an orange shawl stands among the group in white dress. A woman in a red blouse and yellow sari stands at right beside a pit. Oil lamps and small fires glow on the ground, consistent with a homa or yagna gathering. No clearly identifiable a person figure is confidently visible; the orange-shawled person is not distinctive enough to confirm identity.

A night photograph of a fire-walking ritual on a dirt ground. A long, glowing bed of embers and coals is lined with bamboo poles on both sides, with smoke rising into the dark sky. Dozens of people in white clothing, mostly men and some women in white and red saris, crowd around the fire pit, watching and standing behind the poles. A bright lamp light and strings of pennant bunting hang over the scene, and a white decorative arch is visible in the background.

Night photograph of an outdoor homa or fire ritual at a Chennai event. Dense smoke fills the air, lit by two bright floodlights above and a larger light on a structure behind. Many people sit or stand on the ground in a crowd, and a few small flames burn in the foreground, including a fire near the centre-left and a small flame at lower right. Figures are blurred and largely indistinct, and no clearly identifiable person in saffron or ornate dress is visible. Scattered people are shown in silhouette against the smoke.

Night photo of an outdoor homa ceremony on bare ground lit by street lamps. Brick-lined fire pits with burning flames and oil lamps are arranged across the ground, and smoke fills the air. Devotees in white and cream clothing stand and move around the fire pits, with one man in a white turban and white dhoti passing something near a pit. A woman in a white sari and others in white stand nearby, while a man in a green shirt and dark trousers stands at right and people watch from the background. Trees and a building are visible behind the crowd.

Night photograph of a courtyard after fireworks, the ground covered with scattered paper debris and spent cracker casings with a few grass tufts in the foreground. Many people in white clothing stand in loose groups, some holding small lit oil lamps, while others handle fireworks near a bright red-orange glow and smoke. A bright floodlight and a white-roofed building with a red stripe frame the background. Smoke drifts across the scene. No individual can be picked out clearly enough to note a distinctive figure, so a person is unsure.

Night photograph of an outdoor ashram grounds during a fireworks celebration. Smoke drifts across the open dusty ground, which is scattered with spent firework debris and marigold petals. Several people in white clothing stand and walk near a long low building with a tin roof, some holding red-glowing lights. Bright orange fire and flickering lamps glow in the background, and a few small flames burn on the ground at right. A succulent plant with spiky leaves sits in the foreground. No identifiable a person candidate is clearly visible.

Night photograph of a fire-walking ritual at an outdoor ground lit only by dim light and smoke. A man in white clothing raises a long pole or rod above a bamboo-railed pit of glowing embers, while a crowd of devotees dressed in white shirts and white dhotis stand and sit around the enclosure. Several people wear rudraksha or bead necklaces. Strings of small flags hang between palm trees overhead, and a metal pot sits at the right edge of the frame.

Night outdoor fire ritual on a dirt ground under hazy smoke lit by street lamps. Many devotees in white shirts, white dhotis and white kurtas, plus women in sarees and salwar-style dress, stand around several small fire pits built of stacked bricks, where flames and offering materials burn. Some people hold their hands together in prayer or stand with folded hands, while others tend the fires. A bare-tree and building silhouette forms the background. The scene suggests a homa fire ceremony with a sizeable crowd, though only the visible participants are counted.
