A seated figure in a red-orange turban, saffron-and-gold dhoti and shawl, and gold armlet sits in an ornate gold-and-brown throne, holding a tall gold-topped staff, with his back to the camera. Before him a devotee in white bows with head lowered while another person in white holds his head, a ritual blessing. Other people in white and saffron stand and sit on mats in a large hall, a camera on a tripod and fan are at left, and a woman in red stands with a microphone near the back. The throne and staff suggest the peetha setting. Visible figures: about six to eight people.2015-09-05September 05 20152015-09-05Indoor ritual setting with a seated figure in a deep red-orange robe and matching orange turban, sitting on an ornate gold-carved brown leather throne with a gold lion-shaped base. A golden staff rises beside the throne. Before them a man in white kurta and trousers, with a bald head and white beard, bows forward while a hand is placed on his head in blessing. Around them devotees in white and cream traditional dress, with white headbands, orange and red shawls, and name cards pinned to their clothes, stand in a hall with cream walls and red-trimmed pillars. Some people wear rudraksha malas and gold bangles. The scene looks like a formal initiation or blessing line.2015-09-05December 12 20122012-12-12November 20 20142014-11-20October 26 20152015-10-26A large hall with rows of seated participants on red mats, mostly in white clothes, facing a central aisle lined with silver stanchions. The devotee bends forward with hands joined, wearing a white headband and a light pink cloth. Beside him an elderly man in a white dhoti with gold border stoops to watch, and a standing crowd of men in white shirts, white dhotis and white headbands fills the marble-floored hall behind. The figure on the throne shows Swamiji (probable) cues of an orange turban, saffron robes and ornate gold jewellery, consistent with a diksha-giving role. A black cable runs across the floor.2015-09-05
