A standing man in an orange-brown dhoti with gold-coloured borders holds a silver aarti lamp with a lit flame in one hand and a silver vessel in the other, performing an offering. He wears a white and red forehead mark, a thick necklace of red, white and yellow flower garlands, gold bangles and earrings. A tree trunk wrapped in pink and yellow flower garlands stands beside him, and a Tamil-script sign reading ஞானலிங்கம் (Gnana Lingam) is visible on a low wall behind. The scene is outdoors among green trees.2013-01-06January 06 20132013-01-06January 06 20132013-01-06A man in saffron-orange dhoti and a bare upper body stands beside a tree trunk wrapped in pink bougainvillea and yellow marigold garlands. He wears long white and red flower garlands and a thick gold necklace, holds a silver oil lamp with a visible flame in one hand and a small silver bell in the other, and has a white vibhuti line on his forehead. Behind him are a stone platform and green trees. The scene looks like an outdoor puja or aarti at a tree. Whether the man is a person cannot be determined from appearance here, so the figure is described by role only.2013-01-06December 31 20092009-12-31January 1st 2013Outdoor photo of a man in saffron-orange dhoti and matching shawl, bare-chested with gold armlet, standing in front of a tree wrapped with pink and yellow flower garlands. He wears long swept-back dark hair, a white vertical tilak, red kumkum on his forehead, a long white and red flower garland with green leaves, and gold earrings. He holds a silver lamp with a flaming wick in one hand and a silver bell in the other, performing an aarti-style lamp offering. A wooden pole stands beside him and a second person is partially visible at left. The lamp is an oil lamp; the setting appears to be a temple or ashram courtyard with trees behind. Swamiji (probable): long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and gold armlet mark the ceremonial role, consistent with the page's identification. One person is clearly visible, with a second partially visible at left.2013-01-06September 26 20142014-09-26A man in a maroon dhoti-style garment with a gold-bordered cloth stands under a corrugated roof at dusk, holding a brass oil lamp with a lit flame in one hand and a brass bell in the other. He wears a long white and purple-and-orange flower garland, a gold-bead rudraksha-style mala, and white and red forehead markings. Behind him, a man in white clothing and a cameraman with a video camera are visible, and a ritual floor design with an orange cushioned seat appears nearby. Temple kirtan and pada-puja activity is suggested by the lamp and setting.2014-09-30A photograph of an outdoor ritual at a carved wooden shrine-pedestal draped with white and striped cloth and garlanded with yellow marigolds and red flowers. A man in a rust-red turban and rust-red robes, wearing a rudraksha mala, a long ceremonial gold-and-beaded necklace, a pink-and-white flower garland, and bangles, holds a lit oil lamp and a brass bell in a ritual gesture toward the shrine. Smoke rises from the lamp. Green foliage and palm trees form the background, and a partially visible person in orange stands at the right edge. Swamiji (probable) is the man performing the lamp offering, identified by his long swept-back hair, rust-red turban, rudraksha mala and ceremonial gold necklace.2016-12-03January 06 20132013-01-06A photograph of a large banyan tree with many aerial roots and trunk, wrapped with a long garland of red, yellow, white and green flowers. A man stands at left in a rust-orange dhoti with a gold border and a red-and-blue flower garland over his shoulders, bare-chested with gold armlets, and holds a brass oil lamp and bell. A flame burns in the lamp near the tree. Swamiji (probable): the figure has long, swept-back dark hair, a gold necklace and a rudraksha-style garland, which are the qualifying cues.2015-01-04
