A festival puja display set against a painted wall mural. On the left, a large grayscale painted portrait of a smiling man with long dark hair, a red bindi and a rudraksha mala, wearing a white shawl, is labelled with a painted presence rather than a physical person. In the centre stands a small shrine with a golden tiled dome, pink and blue columns and a backdrop of bark-like fabric, housing a deity murti draped in green and red with a flower garland and crown. In front sit a murti in orange robes and garland beside a blue-and-gold clad figure, with a steel vessel, brass plates, fruit and a kalasha-style lamp. On the right, a tiered white step display holds many small clay figurines, deities, and framed pictures. No physical people are visible.2009-10-10June 09 20112011-06-09 +1 copiesNovember 12 20082008-11-12Interior of a multi-tiered diorama-style temple display with painted cloud-filled ceiling and pillars. No living people are visible.2006-01-07November 12 20082008-11-12January 07 20062006-01-07A woman in a white sari with a long side braid and a hair clip stands with her back to the camera, holding a brass handbell in her right hand while facing a shrine. Inside the shrine, a seated deity murti wears a gold crown, a red and gold dress and a beaded necklace, with yellow flowers at its base and small fairy lights strung around the arch. Nearby, a small figure in an orange and red outfit with a red headdress sits at the lower left in front of a painted blue and white backdrop. A side altar draped with a white cloth and blue garland holds framed portraits, small figurines and deity statues. The room is decorated with painted walls and a painted mountain backdrop.2009-10-10A photograph of a glass-fronted display case containing a detailed pale carved model of a South Indian temple complex with several tall gopuram towers, shrines, courtyards and a surrounding wall. Small oil lamps glow along the walls and at the base of the towers, lighting the model from within. The case has a dark wooden frame and a glass top. No people are visible in the scene.2005-11-22A photograph at night of a large cream-coloured temple model on a red carpet, with a golden tiered shrine-top (vimana-like form) at its centre and several gopuram-style towers around it. Behind the model, a man in a saffron-orange robe with a long garland of orange and yellow flowers stands with palms pressed together in namaskar. Other people in orange and red clothing stand near him under a scaffolded covered hall with string lights.2018-03-02June 03 20062006-06-03A photograph of a temple shrine niche built in pale peach-coloured marble with a tiered arched canopy, small gold finials and round columns. Below the canopy hangs a framed green panel printed with a deity murti in a crown, pink-tinted, with strands of rudraksha-like beads and marigold-style garlands draped on either side. Plain white tiled walls surround the shrine and the ceiling has dark damp stains. No people are visible.2009-09-10May 09 20122012-05-09
