Night-time outdoor ritual at a temple-like courtyard. A priest in an orange turban and orange-gold dhoti stands at left holding a silver tray of yellow flowers and fruit. Beside him a man in a white dhoti holds a brass plate with a lit oil lamp and offerings. Several young boys sit in a row on a raised platform strewn with yellow marigold petals, wearing white and orange garlands, sacred ash and orange or blue cloths. A devotee woman in a white sari with garland sits in the background. Brass vessels and a red kalasha-like pot rest on the platform, with flower garlands hanging from the roof.2016-10-10March 05 20162016-03-05 +1 copiesA night-time homa at an open-air ashram hall. A square yellow-and-white tiered fire pit holds a burning fire with smoke rising. About nine young shaved-headed men in saffron-orange robes with white tilak marks and rudraksha malas sit cross-legged around it; one in the foreground tends the fire while others sit with folded hands. A standing young man in orange stands at the back, and a figure in white sits on the right. Brass oil lamps stand on the right beside yellow marigold garlands and a cloth offering. Dim background with a few onlookers.2013-11-09April 20 20182018-04-20 +1 copiesAugust 28 20182018-08-28June 22 20142014-06-22 +1 copiesA homa fire pit is laid with a heap of yellow bananas being offered into the flames. Two hands in the lower left reach in to arrange the fruit, and a corner of an orange-red garment and a dark beaded mala are visible at the left edge. Behind the fire, a golden lion-shaped sculpture stands beside a gold-trimmed altar against a red backdrop, with smoke rising from the fire. No full faces of people are shown.2021-03-02November 10 20112011-11-10A photo of an outdoor homa fire ceremony on a tiled courtyard beside a red wall. A man seated on a white cloth with a folded striped mat wears a bare chest, a rudraksha mala and a gold chain and sits before a rangoli of yellow flowers and red powder with apples laid out. Beside him a standing man in white dhoti and shawl, wearing a rudraksha mala, bends over a square fire pit lined with brick-coloured blocks and yellow marigold petals, where flames burn above a copper vessel and ladle. Marigold garlands, a kalasha and pots of offerings are placed around the area, and two people in saffron clothing stand in the background. Several rows of coconuts decorated with flowers line the wall.2016-02-27February 27 20162016-02-27October 10 20102010-10-10A photograph of a ceremonial procession on a brick-paved platform in front of a red multi-storey building with water tanks. A large dark stone structure shaped like an arched tomb-like shrine is wrapped in a garland of marigolds, roses and green leaves in red, yellow, white and purple. A striped canopy umbrella with red, green, blue and white fringes is raised above it on a pole. Several men stand on and around the shrine: one in the centre wears an orange-brown robe and holds the shrine's edge, one wears a white shawl and a head covering, and one on the right wears an orange robe, rudraksha beads and a headband. Their gestures suggest a ritual or ceremonial offering at the shrine.2018-01-01 +1 copies
