Children and a few adults queue along a wooden serving counter with steel trays of rice, yellow dal and a green vegetable dish. A girl in a red patterned bandhani-style dress holds a steel plate of rice, and another girl in a dark top reaches forward with a plate. A server in gloves ladles food from steel containers on the left. Behind the line, a maroon banner with a painted illustration of a saffron-robed figure and the word KAILASA is displayed. A queue of people waits on a green carpet along the right: women in saris and salwar in blue, pink and purple, men in shirts, and several children, some holding steel plates. Boys in orange and green shirts crowd the counter in front, reaching for food on plates.2024-01-28
