A seated figure in a saffron-orange robe sits on a raised platform before a gold-colored stand holding offerings and a brass vessel, while another person in white stands nearby with hands folded. A framed portrait sits on an orange armchair beside the platform. Seated rows of women and girls in orange saris with red borders face the platform, and a bare-headed sannyasi in orange sits at left. Plants, a red wall and a loudspeaker are visible in the background. Whether the saffron-robed central figure is a person cannot be confirmed from appearance, so the role is given as a seated sannyasi.2014-10-02October 02 20142014-10-02Night-time puja at an open stone pavilion with grey carved pillars and strings of small lights overhead. In the foreground, a man in saffron-orange robes and a patterned conical hat sits cross-legged before a brass tray of offerings, pink lotus, a small kalasha and bowls. Beside him, a white-cloth-draped altar holds a deity murti decorated with yellow and orange marigold garlands, a gold necklace and a white turban-like head covering. Behind it, large painted deity figures wear red and green garments, jewelled necklaces and a crown-like headdress, with a red curtain at the right edge. The priest is seated and reading or chanting from loose papers, and brass lamps and vessels stand on the altar.2007-10-16October 11 20162016-10-11Photograph inside a covered temple porch of a shrine with two large, gold-coloured deity murtis seated on a throne, adorned with fresh marigold and rose garlands in yellow, orange, red and purple. A woman in a yellow sari with a garland around her neck stands in front of the murtis, looking up with hands folded. Behind her a man in an orange robe with a saffron shawl and rudraksha-style beads holds a brass tray of offerings. In the foreground at left a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti with a gold necklace holds a plate of flowers and fruit near brass lamps and a kalasha. Several other people in white and orange clothing stand at the back near an orange wall. Brass oil lamps and offering plates sit on the stone floor, and a flower arrangement rests in the lower foreground. The scene looks like a puja or aarti ritual, with the deities being honoured.2010-12-23Outdoor shrine under a corrugated roof with a seated man in profile on an orange cushioned chair, wearing a dark red-maroon cloth over his upper body and a gold necklace, his shaved-looking hair pulled back into a knot. Before him stands a large decorated deity murti with multiple figures and garlands of orange and white flowers, with a smaller colourful shrine and a yellow-tiered homa/puja platform with offerings of bananas, brass bowls and oil lamps in front. A bright orange towel rests on his chair arm. Trees and palms surround the open courtyard. Physical person count: one seated man.2014-10-02Outdoor ritual gathering at an ashram with a large white deity murti of a goddess draped in garlands, flanked by smaller figures, set on a raised red-and-white platform. In front, a seated priest in orange-brown robes performs puja beside a golden yantra-style basin with brass offering plates. Seated in rows on paving are about twenty women and girls in orange and maroon clothing, some with hair tied back and flowers, listening or chanting. A standing man in white dhoti with gold border holds hands in namaskar at left, next to an empty orange armchair with a framed portrait on a stand. Strings of marigold garlands and paper decorations hang overhead under a metal canopy.2014-10-02October 08 20162016-10-08
