August 01 20082008-08-01Night photograph of a dense crowd at an outdoor event lit by a string of small orange and yellow lights overhead and a few bright white lamps on poles. In the centre, a figure in an orange-saffron garment sits raised above the crowd, with long dark hair and a dark ceremonial cord or mala across the chest; another person beside them in a light green shirt holds a tall pole or staff. Many people in white clothes with orange or saffron shawls fill the background. The image is dark and grainy.2008-08-01A photograph of a seated figure on a flower-decorated throne at an indoor event, draped in garlands of white and orange flowers. The seated man wears a saffron-orange robe, a gold-toned necklace and a long flowing hairstyle, and smiles toward a woman in white who kneels before him with her head bowed. Around them are shaved-headed devotees in orange robes, some holding long bamboo poles with orange flags, and a cameraman with a video camera at the left edge. Several seated people in the foreground are viewed from behind. Appearance-based cues on the throned figure, including long hair, saffron robes and ornate gold necklace, give a probable Swamiji (probable) identification with the role of the seated guru receiving devotion.2006-07-11July 28 20082008-07-28 +1 copiesDecember 27 20062006-12-27Outdoor evening gathering at an ashram. A long-haired figure in a flowing saffron-orange robe sits centrally on a white sheet, with long dark hair and a warm smile, apparently seated among devotees. Around him sit many devotees in white clothes with saffron-orange shawls, some men with shaved heads, several women and young girls, some seated on a low ledge or cloth-covered platform. A dark wooden fence with striped panels and foliage forms the background. A person in the foreground is partly out of focus. Based on distinctive saffron robe and long hair cues, this is a probable Swamiji seated as a sannyasi among devotees.2006-08-20November 09 20112011-11-09August 20 20062006-08-20August 20 20062006-08-20A photograph of a seated figure in saffron-orange robes with long dark hair and a gold necklace and rudraksha-style beads, sitting on an ornate orange-and-gold throne-like seat in a decorated hall. Above, strings of colourful paper lanterns and mango-leaf garlands hang from the ceiling. Seated devotees in white and orange clothing, some wearing flower garlands, fill the floor, and a golden deity murti or ornate golden object stands at the right edge beside a golden staff. A small brass lamp and offerings sit on the floor at lower left.2008-12-26July 16 20062006-07-16January 08 20122012-01-08
