January 02 20082008-01-02May 09 20082008-05-09A crowded nighttime photo inside a busy temple lane lined with shops and offerings. In the foreground, a man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with a gold-beaded necklace and gold armbands looks upward, a white tilak on his forehead; the cues are long swept-back hair and ornate clothing, so he is a probable Swamiji candidate present in person. Beside him, a woman in an orange sari with a dark mala smiles. Behind them, a man in an orange t-shirt with a rudraksha-style mala and a man in white kurta with a wooden bead mala look up; a bald man in white and a man in a light blue shirt with a mala stand nearby, and devotees fill the background.2012-04-11December 29 20102010-12-29May 09 20082008-05-09February 01 2009 Kalpataru Convention at Coimbatore City2009-02-01Night outdoor darshan at a large open-air gathering. A figure in an orange-saffron turban and matching yellow-orange robe, wearing a white and yellow flower garland, sits on a yellow-draped raised seat and extends a hand toward the crowd. Beside and behind them, another saffron-robed person stands. Devotees in white and cream clothes press close, a smiling woman in white with a red bindi reaches out, and a young girl and a baby are held forward. A red tray with pineapples and fruit sits at the lower edge. Behind the crowd, rows of blue chairs, orange and string lights, and palm trees fill the scene.2010-02-18January 01 20092009-01-01A night-time outdoor event on a raised stage with bright floodlights overhead. A man with long dark hair, wearing a white turban, white robe and a yellow-gold shawl, sits on a white throne-like seat with white cushions and gestures toward a group. Several men in white shirts and white dhotis, one wearing a red-and-gold shawl, sit or stand with palms pressed together in respectful greeting. A younger man in a white shirt and beige trousers wears a rudraksha mala and stands with hands folded. Beyond the stage, rows of red chairs and a white-lit building are visible. Swamiji appearance is a probable match: long swept-back hair, white turban and gold-trimmed shawl on a throne.2005-12-09Outdoor procession under bright sunlight beneath coconut palms, with two large ceremonial parasols with red, yellow, green and blue panels and tasselled fringe held aloft. In the foreground a smiling man wears a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, a long white jasmine garland with green and red accents, a gold necklace and a cream-and-gold turban with a red tilak, and holds a small gold object in one hand, moving forward with the group. Behind him a woman in a white sari with a yellow shawl claps, and women in white and saffron saris, several with garlands, follow. A man in orange with a gold-tipped ceremonial staff and rudraksha-style beads walks among them. Thatched huts and a white SUV appear in the background.2008-12-27December 29 20092009-12-29May 09 20082008-05-09
