A photograph of a large outdoor ritual gathering under a open-sided pavilion. Many seated devotees, mostly young men and boys, face a raised platform. Most wear saffron orange upper cloths with red-and-gold borders over white dhotis, and several wear rudraksha malas. On the platform, two men in white dhotis and white shawls sit before a small ritual setup, one with a bowl and one holding an object. Behind them stand a decorated shrine with a deity murti, red-and-white striped pillars, potted plants and a brass kalasha-like vessel. The scene suggests a puja or ceremonial sitting.2016-08-18A photo of an outdoor courtyard gathering with red walls and a green tree. Many young children and teenagers in orange and saffron clothing, with rudraksha malas, sit on the ground in rows facing a raised dais. A man seated on the dais wears an orange robe and a tall dark crown-like headpiece and speaks into a microphone. Brass lamps with hanging chains and a brass kalasha-like bowl filled with white flowers and a red petal stand in the foreground. A woman in red sits to the side, and a shaved-headed man in orange sits in front, writing in a notebook. Brass bells and ornate golden elements hang near the dais.2016-01-11September 19 20162016-09-19January 11 20162016-01-11A group of young shaved-headed ascetics in saffron-orange dhotis and wraps, with rudraksha malas and white tripundra markings on their foreheads, sit on a white floor mat performing a seated ritual. Several hold brass lamps or ritual implements over small plates of fruit and sweets on low wooden stands. Behind them, men in white dhotis and shirts, some wearing red shawls, sit with hands folded in prayer. The setting looks like a hall with a tiled floor and a blue cloth strip on the floor.2013-11-18August 08 20172017-08-08A courtyard gathering in a red-walled ashram setting with potted trees and stone pillars.
