Indoor ritual aarti in a hall with a curved corrugated roof and yellow steel trusses. Several saffron-robed priests in orange dhotis and shawls raise lit multi-tiered oil lamps (aarti lamps) toward the ceiling, one holding a small bell. A white-draped long table runs through the room, with seated devotees behind it. A woman in a white sari with green border holds flowers at left, and a man in white stands near the back. Colourful woven pillars with floral patterns hang from the ceiling, and a cameraman with a tripod films the scene at centre. The priest at left with a shaved head and bare shoulders may be a person, shown with a rudraksha mala, but the appearance is uncertain.2006-01-01Evening aarti ceremony in a hall with a corrugated roof. Each raises a metal lamp high with a large flame, and smoke drifts upward. Behind them, seated attendees watch, and a yellow steel frame and colourful banner are visible at left. The central figure has a shaved head with a tied-back tuft and wears a rudraksha-style mala, but no crown, long hair or ceremonial gold identifies him as a person, so the identity is uncertain.2006-01-01January 01 20062006-01-01Photograph of an aarti ceremony in a large hall with a corrugated metal roof and yellow steel trusses.
