Two women in colourful saris decorate a deity murti seated on a gold-framed throne with red and white flower garlands. The woman on the left wears a teal blue sari with gold border, and the woman on the right wears an orange and green sari with gold border; both are bending toward the murti, adorning it. A third person in a white sari with gold border stands at the far left with hands joined in namaskar. Foreground shows a gold tray with puja items, a brass oil lamp, and a gold kalasha, with banana leaves and palms around the altar. Behind, other deities are dressed with garlands and a white-clothed altar is visible.2011-04-20April 20 20112011-04-20April 20 20112011-04-20April 20 20112011-04-20July 13 20152015-07-13 +2 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesA temple ritual in progress before a gilded ornate arch-shaped shrine seat on wheels, holding a deity murti decorated with white and yellow flower garlands and red flowers. A person in a green silk sari with a gold border leans in to adjust garlands and place offerings on the murti. Behind them a second person in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, wearing a rudraksha-style mala, holds a brass plate with yellow flowers. At lower left a man in white ritual clothing rings a bell beside a flame. Brass oil lamps stand nearby, and red-draped deity figures with floral garlands appear in the background. Red and white striped pillars and stone carvings frame the sanctum.2011-11-01A photograph of a temple ritual before silver and gold deity murtis of a goddess and god adorned with garlands of red, yellow and white flowers, crowns, jewelled necklaces and a green silk backdrop. In the foreground, a bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with a maroon and gold border reaches up and places his hands on the deity's garlands, with a gold-framed ornamental stand in front. Oil lamps stand at the edges of the frame.2015-10-18A photograph of a temple shrine with a golden arched frame holding a large deity murti of Shiva and Parvati, both adorned with crowns and heavy garlands of yellow, red and white flowers. A central Shiva lingam with a silver-trimmed face sits draped in white cloth and garlands. A small pink-and-white clad figure stands before the altar among offering plates and brass lamps. On the left, a bare-backed man in an orange dhoti and a flower garland reaches toward the murti, apparently performing abhishekam or puja. Other figures in maroon robes sit at the right edge. The setting is an open pavilion with stone pillars and trees beyond.2006-12-29A photograph of a temple ritual inside a shrine room with orange walls. A man in a saffron/orange robe with a red and white flower garland and a gold-bordered shawl pours or offers something from a small silver vessel over a deity murti. The murti wears a green silk cloth, a white flower garland and gold ornaments, and a second seated figure in red garments and white flowers sits beside it. Behind them is an ornate gold-framed arch and a yellow backdrop. Devotees in white and orange clothes stand at the left by the doorway, and a person in orange holds a brass item. The man's appearance (long swept-back hair, saffron robe, gold-bordered shawl and garland) is consistent with the Swamiji candidate named on the page, so the identification is probable from appearance, though it cannot be confirmed from the face.2013-03-07A man in saffron-orange robes and a gold rudraksha-style neck garland sits at a golden temple archway, placing a white-and-red flower garland onto a green cloth-draped deity murti or ritual form. A tilak mark is on his forehead and his hair is swept back. A woman in white kneels at right beside the altar, and a steel bowl of flowers and offerings sits in the foreground. Behind them, a deity is dressed in red silk, with jeweled gold ornaments and purple flower garlands. The scene appears to be a puja or abhishekam in a temple shrine.2009-10-17October 18 20152015-10-18
