December 17 20102010-12-17Night photograph of a festival procession passing between tall garland-hung pillars of yellow, green and pink flowers strung with leaves. A smiling young woman with long hair wears a deep red shawl over a white dhoti-style garment and walks forward, her right hand raised. Behind her, a woman in a cream shawl and white sari walks beside a woman in a light peach sari, and figures in saffron and orange robes stand in the background near a lit canopy or ornamental structure. Strings of orange triangular bunting hang above. Dim lamplight and blurred motion give a candid, unposed feel.2010-12-17December 17 20102010-12-17December 17 20102010-12-17Photograph of a procession walking through a stone-walled passage lined with orange and red cloth at a temporary pavilion. A central figure with long dark hair, a red-and-white flower garland, gold necklaces and an orange-saffron garment raises one hand in blessing as he walks. Around him, several shaven-headed men in saffron and orange robes with gold-bordered cloth and rudraksha malas walk alongside. Two men in white dhoti with gold borders and a man in a red jacket stand to the right. In the background, an ornate golden deity murti under a decorated canopy and hanging lights mark a shrine area, with a few other people in white and orange clothes nearby. Stone carvings frame the entrance.2013-02-05December 28 20062006-12-28December 19 20162016-12-19February 07 20162016-02-07A photograph of a doorway procession inside a decorated hall. Beside him, a bearded man in orange robes walks, and to the right a man in orange robes holds a silver tray with offerings. Behind them, men in white shirts with lanyards and a man in white with a red shawl follow. On the left, women in white saris with folded hands line the rail, and banana leaves and palm fronds decorate the archway, with coconut-palm foliage visible outside. Some devotees wear white clothing.2010-02-12November 19 20092009-11-19A photograph of a festive procession down a red carpet under a tent with greenery and colourful hanging decorations. At centre, a bearded man in a rust-brown robe wears a white and pink flower garland and walks ahead of a yellow-and-green ceremonial canopy pole with a multicoloured fringed top. Beside him, a shirtless young man in orange and gold cloth holds the canopy pole, with rudraksha beads visible. On the left, a woman in a teal sari and a man in orange dhoti and gold-bordered shawl stand with palms pressed together, some carrying offerings. Several devotees in white, maroon and orange garments, including a woman in a yellow top, stand along the carpet with hands folded in namaskar.2016-12-15A photograph inside a temple corridor with dark stone pillars and a lit shrine doorway. A man in the centre foreground wears an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, a long garland of white and yellow flowers, gold necklaces and bangles, and white tilak on his forehead, walking forward with his hands at his sides. Around him, devotees in orange and white clothes walk, some with palms pressed together in prayer, one man in a striped polo shirt holding flowers in folded hands. A bald man in an orange-saffron cloth with a mala walks to the right. Floor is wet and scattered with petals. Appearance cues are consistent with a person figure walking in procession, though identity is uncertain.2012-10-12
