December 14 20162016-12-14December 14 20162016-12-14A photograph inside a temple sanctum during a ritual. A man in a rust-red turban with a gold crown ornament, long dark hair, gold armlets and a rust-coloured dhoti and shawl stands at right, arranging a long garland of yellow, red and white marigold-style flowers draped over a gold-coloured deity murti. Behind him stands a second person in rust-orange clothing with long hair. The gold deity figure has raised hands and wears a rich garland, with a gold kalasha-like vessel and a lit oil lamp at right. The room has warm lighting and wooden architecture. The page's flag note does not establish identity; the man's presentation is only partly visible, with a turban and gold ornaments rather than distinctive long swept hair, rudraksha or saffron-only dress, so the appearance is uncertain.2016-12-14A photograph inside a temple sanctum during a puja. A man in a maroon-red robe and an orange-red turban bends forward, both hands on a large garland of yellow, red, and green flowers draped over a deity murti. Gold ornaments and a coiled serpent hood sit on the murti behind him, with a richly decorated golden-and-red deity figure at right. A second robed assistant with long hair and a rudraksha mala stands at left holding a plate. Brass oil lamps with lit flames sit in the foreground. Marigold garlands surround the scene.2016-12-14December 26 20102010-12-26A photograph inside a temple sanctum showing a man in a rust-orange turban and dark orange dhoti, with a gold bracelet on his upper arm, bending forward to adorn a large deity murti with multicoloured flower garlands of marigold, red, green and white blossoms. Behind him a younger attendant with a bare chest and a rudraksha-style necklace stands in the doorway. The deity murti is draped in gold and red silk and is decorated with gold ornaments, and a brass oil lamp burns in the right foreground. The flower decoration suggests puja or abhishekam preparation.2016-12-14December 14 20162016-12-14A photo of a temple ritual. A person in an orange-red robe and matching orange turban stands at left, one hand resting on a richly decorated deity murti. The murti is adorned with a large garland of red, yellow, white and green flowers, gold jewellery, a gold necklace and a rudraksha-style bead mala, with a green-jewelled crown. Gold-toned decorative metalwork and a red cloth are visible at right. Only one physical person is visible; the murti is a statue.2014-12-05December 14 20162016-12-14A photograph inside a temple sanctum showing a man in a maroon-red turban and reddish-brown dhoti with a bare upper body, wearing gold armlets and a white flower garland, adorning a deity with a long chain of marigolds in yellow, orange and red along with green leaves. The deity murti has a golden face and is draped in colourful garments and flower garlands. A helper in an orange-brown cloth stands at left holding a small brass vessel, and an oil lamp flame glows at right.
