Rough wooden poles and logs frame the scene, with exposed wiring and fluorescent lights overhead. The statues are sculpted figures rather than living people.2007-12-12A man stands in the centre of an illuminated shrine niche, smiling and raising both hands palms-out in greeting. He wears a red and white flower garland around his neck and a brown dhoti with a darker sash. Flanking him are two painted deity murti with gold ornaments, jewelled arm bands and blue and orange lower garments, one holding a flaming torch and a trident-like staff, the other a torch and a mace. Behind him sits a decorated deity murti draped in white and orange garlands on a cushioned throne. On the left, a bald man in saffron-brown robes and a rudraksha mala holds a brass plate, with small brass oil lamps on the floor.2015-05-29August 09 20102010-08-09A photograph of a temple exterior wall with a row of painted plaster deity figures set in niches against a bright blue backdrop.
