The central man has long swept-back dark hair, a white headband, an orange garment, and beaded necklaces, and he is holding his hands out toward the crowd, with white paste or ash marks on his arms. Around him, many people wear orange and saffron robes, some with shaved heads and others with long dark hair, and a few wear white. A woman with light hair stands among them. A figure at right in orange holds a brass vessel. Swamiji (probable) is the appearance-based label for the central figure, who has distinctive long hair, orange clothing and beaded necklaces.2008-01-17July 23 20122012-07-23A photograph of a crowded indoor hall with a corrugated metal roof and ceiling fans. In the centre, a man with long, swept-back dark hair, a red bindi and white tilak, wears a saffron-orange garment over his shoulder, layered rudraksha malas, gold armlets and a gold-toned ceremonial necklace; he extends one hand toward the crowd. Around him, men in white shirts and striped shirts press forward, one with palms joined in greeting; a bearded elderly man stands at left. A second saffron-clad figure stands behind him and a woman in an orange sari with a maroon border is at right. Colourful hanging decorative panels line the walls.2012-01-08January 08 20122012-01-08December 28 20082008-12-28 +1 copies
