Photograph of a homa at night inside a hall. A brick-lined fire pit blazes in the foreground with flames and burning wood. Behind it, a seated officiant wears a red-orange head covering and orange-red robes with a rudraksha mala, and is speaking into a microphone on a stand. Three men in white dhotis and white shirts sit cross-legged to the left, and a partly visible person in white stands at the right edge. Brass vessels and a lamp rest on trays nearby, with a garlanded object in the background.2004-07-02A blurry film photograph of a homa fire burning in a rectangular yellow-brown fire pit at the centre-bottom of the frame. Behind it, a seated figure in orange-red robes and a red head covering sits near the left edge, and several people in white clothes sit cross-legged on the right, one holding a small object. Small flames of oil lamps glow in the background, and a faint purple logo appears in the top-left corner along with a date stamp reading '87 5 13'. The figure in orange is seated behind the fire pit with partially obscured features, and his face is not clearly visible, so no identification is made.2004-07-02Photograph of a homa ritual in an ashram hall. A man in an orange turban and orange robes sits cross-legged at a low brick fire platform, extending his arm toward a bright flame at left. Behind him a seated musician in white plays a stringed instrument, and two more people in white sit at the back. Near the platform rests a silver kalasha-style vessel with a small flame. At right, a garland hangs beside a ceremonial trident and a dark drape, and a framed portrait stands on the far right. Two people in the foreground, one at right in white clothing and dark hair, are seen from behind watching the rite. The image is somewhat blurred, and a faint vertical date stamp appears at the right edge.2004-07-02A photograph of a homa at a fire pit lined with yellow-tinted brick. A man in saffron-orange robes, with long swept-back dark hair, an orange head cloth and beaded rudraksha-style malas, raises a wooden ladle over the flames while holding a ritual implement. Several people in white clothes sit around the pit, including a woman in a white sari with a dark blouse and beaded necklace, and men in white shirts. Smoke rises from the fire, and a microphone stand is visible in the background along with a brass vessel and garlands. Bundles of grass and small offerings sit near the pit. The man is an appearance-based a person candidate in an officiating role at the homa.2004-07-02July 02 20042004-07-02A photograph of a homa fire ritual at night. A seated man in red-orange robes and a red turban sits behind a low yellow brick fire pit, with tall flames rising from burning offerings and wood. He holds a small object near the flame and a microphone stand is visible at left. Another person in white clothing sits at the right edge, near a small lit lamp on the fire pit ledge. The background is dark. Swamiji (probable): the seated man wears a red turban and saffron-orange robes with ornate gold-bordered fabric at the shoulder, and rudraksha-style beads are visible on the robe, supporting the page's note of a homa conducted during the Sanyas Deeksha Mahotsav.2004-07-02A photograph of a homa at night. A man in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange head wrap sits behind a fire pit, holding coconuts up before a flame. He wears a rudraksha mala and has a tilak on his forehead. A microphone stands near him. Two men in white shirts sit to the right, one with a beard, and offerings and a kalasha are visible on the stone platform. The man in orange is a person with distinctive saffron robes, orange turban and rudraksha mala, performing the homa; the appearance is consistent with the page but not certain.2004-07-02February 16 20072007-02-16July 02 20042004-07-02December 16 20102010-12-16A homa fire burns on a raised stone fire pit in the foreground at night. A robed priest in saffron-orange wrap and turban sits cross-legged, extending one arm over the flames while holding a brass plate of grains and a brass bowl with a ladle. Rudraksha-style bead bracelets and necklaces adorn the priest. Small brass pots, a kalasha-type vessel, and a potted plant sit beside the fire. Behind, a large seated audience dressed largely in white fills the background, softly out of focus. The scene reads as a fire ritual in progress.2017-02-21August 01 20142014-08-01
