He wears a long multi-strand necklace of orange-yellow flower garlands and has long dark hair swept back. Red and maroon patterned mats are laid on the stone and on a white-painted ledge at right, with a blue-bordered white cloth runner at lower right. A man in white kurta and trousers stands behind near the tree, holding a camera. Dry red earth and fallen leaves cover the ground.2013-02-28Outdoor photograph beneath a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and a dense canopy. In the foreground, a shaven-headed monk in a red-maroon robe stands smiling beside a second monk in orange robes. Opposite them, a figure with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange-saffron wrap over orange lower garments and is barefoot, smiling and facing the monks; this figure has distinctive long hair and saffron clothing, so a person is plausible. Behind them, a man in a purple sweater and grey trousers stands and other people in white and casual clothes are partly visible. At right, a red painted stone structure and a stone serpent sculpture sit on a pale paved area with a sandy ground.2006-12-24February 24 20132013-02-24 +1 copiesApril 01 20132013-04-01 +2 copiesDecember 31 20092009-12-31Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with thick aerial roots and white-washed stone platforms around its base. A saffron-robed figure with a flaming oil lamp or arati flame raised in one hand and a red-and-white flower garland around the neck stands on a dark polished stone slab. To the left, another saffron-robed person holds a trident-topped staff and presses palms together in prayer, while figures in white clothes with yellow shawls stand nearby. The scene suggests an arati or puja at the sacred tree.2009-12-27
