A seated group ritual in a bright hall with polished floor. Two men in white dhotis with gold-bordered shawls sit in front, one with a rudraksha mala and bare arms adorned with gold bangles, the other tending a small lamp-and-offering setup. Behind them rows of boys and young men sit cross-legged on mats in orange, red, white and striped shirts, many with small oil lamps and brass vessels before them. A few adult men in white stand or sit at the back. Brass plates, a red bowl and a green tray lie on the floor. The scene suggests a puja or satsang in progress.2012-05-08Large seated gathering in a hall with rows of devotees in white and saffron clothing, many with hands in anjali mudra. In the foreground a man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala sits with palms pressed together, with brass plates, small oil lamps and offering dishes on orange cloths before the group. Shaved-headed men in white dhotis with gold-bordered shawls and white tilak marks on their foreheads sit nearby, and many children and young people fill the background, some with hands folded in prayer.2011-12-10November 28 20112011-11-28September 20 20112011-09-20April 09 20122012-04-09December 05 20112011-12-05A photograph of a seated group of white-clad men and boys performing a ritual with oil lamps and brass plates. Most men wear white dhotis with gold-bordered orange shawls and sacred ash markings on their foreheads and arms; the front-row men wear rudraksha malas and gold bangles, and several have shaved or tonsured heads. Younger boys in dark shirts and maroon-and-orange clothing sit among them, and a boy in glasses on the right holds a small notebook. The front-row man with folded hands is closest to the camera, and a printed booklet lies on the floor at lower left. Some devotees have eyes closed in meditation, and there is no visible throne or figure singled out as a person.2013-02-04May 21 20122012-05-21 +3 copiesJanuary 28 20132013-01-28
