April 12 20142014-04-12September 19 20142014-09-19A group ritual in a bright hall with tiled floor and a row of metal crowd barriers at left. In the foreground a man in white dhoti and shawl with a long reddish-brown rudraksha-style cord and beaded necklaces holds up a lit oil lamp and a brass item. Behind him, several young men and boys in saffron and orange robes with white forehead markings sit cross-legged on mats, some holding lamps or brass vessels, with flowers, small brass lamps and plates of offerings before them. Seated on chairs at the back are men in white and a man in a red t-shirt, their hands folded in greeting. The scene suggests a puja or aarti with oil lamps and flowers.2014-04-04April 22 20142014-04-22May 27 20132013-05-27A photo of a seated puja in a hall with orange-robed devotees. In the foreground a bald man with a vibhuti line and forehead marks sits bare-chested, wearing long rudraksha malas, a rudraksha necklace and a loose reddish-brown shawl, holding up a small brass item or lamp near a plate of offerings. Nearby, a shirtless young man with a shaved head and a rudraksha mala holds a lit oil lamp, and others in orange garments and beaded necklaces sit on cloth-covered mats behind. Small brass lamps, a stand and orange bags are on the floor, with a blurred background of cream walls and framed images.2017-01-22Several seated devotees perform a ritual with oil lamps during worship. In the centre, a shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes and rudraksha mala holds a lit oil lamp, with white tripundra marks on his forehead and arms. Beside him, another man in orange with a dark bead mala holds a lamp. Behind them, young boys in maroon and gold-bordered cloths and beaded necklaces sit, some holding lamps. Brass vessels, flowers and offerings lie on a low table. No candidate is visibly identifiable as a person from appearance; these are devotees and priests.2013-07-10January 15 20172017-01-15June 01 20142014-06-01A photograph of a row of men seated on the floor in saffron-orange robes, many bare-chested with white ash markings on their foreheads and bodies. Several raise small oil lamps or lit lamps aloft, and a brass lamp and small brass vessels sit in the foreground beside incense sticks. Behind them a pale interior wall with framed pictures and a brown door. A young man in the centre holds a lamp above his head, wearing rudraksha beads, a pendant necklace and a white sacred thread across his chest. On the right a man with rudraksha malas and orange cloth stands out in the foreground. The scene appears to be a lamp-waving ritual or aarti during a group worship session.2017-01-25April 17 20142014-04-17April 13 20132013-04-13
