March 25 20122012-03-25A seated figure in an orange sleeveless robe, long dark hair falling past the shoulders, sits with palms pressed together in namaste on a white cushioned seat in a home room. Around him devotees sit on the floor in white and cream garments; a woman in a white sari with a red border and several others have hands folded in prayer. Brass thalis holding flowers, fruit and small oil lamps sit before the group. Behind them stand a glass cabinet with figurines and books, a framed deity picture, and a marigold garland hangs across the top left. The figure has distinctive long swept hair and saffron robes, consistent with a person, seated in the role of the presiding teacher leading the puja.2010-02-18A photograph of a devotional puja inside a room with a white cloth on the floor. Several seated devotees with palms pressed together face a framed portrait on the right, garlanded with white and pink flowers. The portrait shows a smiling figure in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha-style bead necklace, seated before a tree trunk, though the portrait is a printed picture, not a physical person. In the foreground a man in an orange kurta kneels with folded hands, and a woman in a maroon and cream sari sits with her back to the camera, wearing a dark bead mala. Offerings on the cloth include bananas, fruit, a lit oil lamp, flower petals, a kalasha-like brass vessel, kumkum and incense sticks. Around six people are visible, mostly women in cream and blue saris, plus men in white shirts seated at the back.2009-08-20A photograph of a pada-pooja ritual in a plain room with pale green walls and built-in shelves. A seated figure in orange robes with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala sits on an orange cushioned seat at right, hands pressed in anjali, eyes closed. Devotees in white and yellow-bordered saris and white shirts kneel on a striped rug, some holding silver plates with kalasha-style pots, flowers and kumkum. A man in a white shirt sits with palms joined, and a young child stands among them. Trays of fruit and sweets sit on a wooden table, and a framed portrait labelled "Paramahamsa Nithyananda" hangs on the wall. Several people are visible, including partially cropped figures at the edges.2010-01-24July 01 20142014-07-01March 25 20122012-03-25A seated figure with long dark hair wears an orange robe, a white and garland of white flowers around the neck, and a gold-coloured necklace, with hands pressed together in namaskar. Seated before him on a blue cloth are several devotees: a woman in a white sari with a pink blouse offers something from a tray, two young women sit in front, and men in orange robes and men in white dhotis with yellow shawls sit with hands folded. The white table holds fruit including apples, oranges and bananas, bowls of prasadam, a plate of sweets, a silver kalasha and brass vessels, with pink flower petals in a bowl. The wall is patterned white tile. This appears to be a padapuja ritual in a small room.2009-07-25July 04 20142014-07-04 +1 copiesJuly 08 20142014-07-08November 29 20092009-11-29July 04 20142014-07-04 +1 copiesA photograph of a domestic puja in a room with a sofa-style couch draped in white cloth.
