A bald man in a white dhoti and orange shawl stands at left with his back partly turned. Beside him, a young man in white dhoti with maroon border, a gold necklace, and white vertical tilak on his forehead holds a brass plate of offerings. A man in a white striped shirt and glasses leans in to receive from the plate.2010-11-20December 12 20112011-12-12October 23 20102010-10-23 +1 copiesNovember 18 20152015-11-18Night outdoor photo of a ritual offering scene with string lights glowing in the background. A woman in a saffron-orange robe with red border, hair pulled back, holds a red cloth and reaches toward a bald man in orange dhoti and shawl wearing a long rudraksha mala and white vibhuti tripundra marks. Nearby, a woman in a white blouse and red shawl holds her hands together in namaste, and a woman in orange with rudraksha mala holds a brass pot. Other devotees with folded hands stand around, and a golden kalasha-style vessel is visible at lower centre.2015-07-07April 23 20132013-04-23 +2 copiesA night-time photograph of a group of men in white ritual dhotis and shawls gathered under a corrugated roof, holding their hands together in prayer or reaching toward a lit oil lamp. A man in an orange-saffron garment with a tall ornate crown, a gold-beaded necklace and rudraksha-style beads holds the brass lamp with a bright flame, passing it among devotees; smoke rises above the flame. Several men wear white dhotis with sandalwood or vibhuti marks on their foreheads and rudraksha malas. The setting suggests a lamp-lighting ritual, possibly a Kartheekai Deepam aarti.2010-11-21Night outdoor photo of a ceremonial welcome on bare red earth. A figure in an orange saffron turban, orange wrap and layered white and multicolour flower garland reaches forward with both hands toward a woman in a white sari with a gold border, who holds a decorated silver-rimmed brass tray with a yellow fruit or kalasha-like offering, flowers, green leaves and a small decorated cloth. Behind them, several men in white shirts and grey-white trousers stand and gesture, one raising an arm; a man in a white kurta and rudraksha mala on the right presses his palms together in greeting. A rope and a tent pole with bunting are visible. The photo is cropped to show the ceremony and surrounding attendees.2007-08-17 +2 copiesNovember 18 20152015-11-18November 18 20152015-11-18
