October 25 20102010-10-25A smiling man with long dark hair and a red bindi sits in a cushioned armchair, wearing a saffron-orange inner garment under a gold-and-orange brocade shawl and draped in a long green leaf garland with yellow and red flowers. A man in a yellow brocade shawl bows his head toward him, touching his feet. At right, a hand holds a tray of fruit, and orange cloth lies on a side table beside books. A red floral curtain hangs behind. The seated man is an appearance-based a person (long hair, garland, saffron and gold attire), with the bowing devotee nearby. Nearby are a bald man in white at left and a tray of fruit at right.2010-10-25Indoor photo in a plain pink-walled room with orange floral curtains and a patterned sofa at right. A bare-chested man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing an orange-saffron dhoti and a gold-bordered saffron-orange shawl, a green leaf garland around his neck, drapes a purple and gold-zari silk shawl over the shoulders of another man, who bends forward smiling. Probable Swamiji (long swept-back hair, saffron-orange clothing, green garland) is the one draping the shawl, who is presenting a shawl in honour. A man in white dhoti stands at left holding fruit, and a blurred figure in orange sits at far right.2010-10-25A seated figure in an orange-saffron robe and a long white and orange flower garland sits on a white-covered sofa in a room with red and lime-green curtains. A long-haired man in orange robes and a multicolour flower garland sits on a white cushioned seat, his hand raised in blessing. In front of him a man in white kurta and white dhoti kneels and bows low, touching his head to the floor on a red mat, with dark powder or ash on the ground. Two men in white with orange shawls stand behind, one wearing glasses, and a partly visible person in white is at the left edge. A fan, a potted plant, a water bottle and a small wooden table are nearby, and a decorated altar with red drapery stands at the right.2006-10-21October 25 20102010-10-25A photo of a seated figure on an ornate gold throne with red cushions and a tiger-striped rug, wearing a brown-orange robe and a large purple orchid garland with orange flowers. A man in a white shirt with a green-and-white sash bows low and offers an orange cloth, while two priests in white dhotis with gold necklaces and rudraksha-style beads stand behind. A clean-shaven-headed man in a white shirt, with a bearded face and rudraksha mala, bows forward with hands clasped to his face while a man in a orange-saffron robe with a multicolour marigold, rose and leaf garland and a rudraksha mala places his hand on his head in blessing. The blessing figure has long swept-back dark hair, a red bindi, an orange-saffron robe and a cream shawl, and smiles. Behind them, other men in white and saffron-orange robes stand, and a bald monk in saffron with a red tilak holds a bowl. The event appears to be a padukas blessing at an ashram. Swamiji cues: long swept-back hair, saffron clothing, rudraksha mala and flower garland (probable).2011-08-14
