Outdoor photograph of a large crowd gathered beneath a broad, spreading banyan tree with aerial roots hanging from its branches. Most attendees wear white kurtas, white shirts and white sarees, with some in yellow and teal; a few wear garlands. A man in the foreground at right, in a white shirt with a garland, stands with his back to the camera facing the group. Woven mats lie on the ground at lower left. The scene suggests a gathering around a sacred tree, though no specific ritual is visibly confirmed.2009-12-02November 21 20112011-11-21Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with many aerial roots.
