2008 - Nithyananda University - Udal and Kattumurthy Courses2007-05-09December 26 20092009-12-26A storeroom at an ashram with orange and yellow cloth hanging on racks along the left wall. Several people stand around a low mat on the floor, handling wrapped packets and bundles; one person in white kneels to arrange items. A man in an orange turban stands in orange robes at right, beside a man in a tan vest over peach robes, and a bald man in peach robes at lower right. Shelves behind hold stacks of printed booklets, framed pictures, a white draped object and a golden ceremonial item. Some men wear white kurtas and yellow shawls. No identification of any individual is made from appearance.2009-12-11A standing man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, bare-shouldered and barefoot, wears a long rudraksha mala around his neck and leans on a tall wooden staff while looking down at the floor of a plain room with pale blue walls and a corrugated ceiling. Beside him, a brown metal cabinet holds rows of brass lamps and candlesticks, and on the grey concrete floor sit brass pots, bowls, a kalasha-style vessel, a plate of flowers and ritual implements. A white metal grille door stands at right. Long dark hair falls to his shoulders.2007-08-08A photograph inside a workshop-like room with a corrugated metal roof and fluorescent light. Two men stand at a wooden table covered with brass ritual instruments: a multi-branch brass lamp, cymbals and drums hang on the wall. The man in the foreground, in an orange saffron robe, gestures toward the brass lamp with his right hand while the other hand rests on a striped cloth; beside him a man in white with a yellow shawl listens, his long dark hair falling loose. Orange cloth lies draped over the table edge, and a partly visible head appears at the bottom. The scene suggests preparation of temple ritual items.2009-12-12January 03 20172017-01-03 +1 copiesDecember 22 20062006-12-22January 03 20172017-01-03 +1 copiesNovember 22 20152015-11-22A man in a white short-sleeved shirt and white dhoti with orange-striped border sits on a wooden platform in a thatched workshop, bent over a curved copper sheet resting on a stone block. Beside him stands a metal rod or stand. Behind him lie a large gilded metal piece with red cloth, cardboard boxes, a plastic bottle, steel containers and a blue gas cylinder. The workman is shaping the metal by hand.2009-07-19August 09 20072007-08-09Photograph of a thatched-roof open pavilion at night with a red-tiled floor. On the right, a figure in a saffron-orange wrap and orange head covering stands barefoot facing a group of men in white ritual clothes, several with orange shawls and beads. One white-clad man holds a brass or golden object. On the floor in front are golden ceremonial items: a staff, a bell-like piece and other gilded ornaments laid on woven mats. White plastic chairs line the back, and a plastic sheet covers an object at left.2006-12-20
